  • Working on LAST ALLIANCE – Me and Your Borderline

So, I was trying to get lyrics by LAST ALLIANCE, but it seems almost impossible… so as with the Kobukuro lyrics, I’ll try to find them and post them up. Thanks to Unexpected Fate, and once again Mognet.net.

  • Jeux d’Enfants – Love Me If You Dare

Continuing with the Best Kisses posts, this is one of my fave films. A dark romantic comedy about Julien and Sophie, who become friends as kids and begin playing a dangerous game of Truth or Dare. Marion Cotillard is truly fantastic on this one, and the various versions of La Vie en Rose make it great.

Since I couldn’t find great captures online, I took some time to make my own. If you use them, it’ll be great that you could link back, or leave a message. ^^

The graphics are from the following moments of the film; Julien and Sophie kissing on top of a car, after Sophie dares him to do so, which continues in the alley until the moment ends and she realizes that it might be just a game to him. And the other moment was when they were about to be covered with the cement, and Julien tells her he should’ve dared to love her like crazy… and they stay happy. together. forever.

  • I Watch Catherine Too.

Anyone ever watched the Franco-Canadian show Catherine? TV-5 Latin America shows it, and I was trying to get some info online, but there wasn’t much. (to read a post about it click here)

    CBC - Catherine Cast

Catherine is a pretty funny show done in French-speaking Canada, by CBC. It stars Sylvie Moreau as Catherine, a sassy and wacky advertiser at Mirage-Image Agency. Alongside Catherine, we see her landlady, her ex boyfriend, the Chinese owner of the grocery, etc. Oh! and don’t forget about her freak-o-megalomaniac flatmate, Sophie (Marie-Hélène Thibault).

If you’re a non-French speaker, or most likely are an English speaker… you can sign this petition to get it on DVD.

  • Must NOT Hydrate and Have Sex in California

It seems water in California… or the US for that matter is ultra fertile, because everyone seems to be already preggers. It’s nuts! Planned pregnancies? Me thinks not so~ There are such things as condoms, and the pill… u know, loads of things to prevent you from accidental pregnancies. LOL’

  • Amazon MP3 Goes International

This is the smartest move that Amazon.com can do for its users. (full article here)

We have received thousands of e-mails from Amazon customers around the world asking us when we will make Amazon MP3 available outside of the U.S,

We are excited to tell those customers today that Amazon MP3 is going international this year.

    I can’t wait for it.

  • Best bits of the SAG winners’ speeches

There were some good bits in some of the speeches for the SAG! Here are some of my faves~

    JAVIER BARDEM:

My grandparents were actors in a time when actors were not allowed to be buried on sacred land, because they were homosexuals and prostitutes. So, it’s been a long way to come here, and that’s something we the actors should apply to ourselves.

    TINA FEY:

If you’ve seen me on the show with Alec Baldwin, then you know it’s sort of like watching Fred Astaire dance with a hat rack. And after a while, you’re like, “Oh, that hat rack is pretty good, too.”

    CHARLES DURNING:

    Hello, Mic.

    DANIEL DAY-LEWIS:

Heath Ledger gave it to me. [applause] In “Monster’s Ball,” that character that he created, it seemed to be almost like an unformed being, retreating from themselves, retreating from his father, from his life, even retreating from us, and yet we wanted to follow him, and yet we’re scared to follow him almost. It was unique. And then, of course, in “Brokeback Mountain,” he was unique, he was perfect. [applause] And that scene in the trailer at the end of the film is as moving as anything that I think I’ve ever seen. And I’d like to dedicate this to Heath Ledger. So, thank you very much. Thank you so much.

    JULIE CHRISTIE:

And if I’ve forgotten anybody, well, it’s just that I’m still in character.

  • SAG Winners Announced!

The Screen Actors Guild award winners are in! Please throw me a film bone, SAG announcers!

    Supporting Actor Film
    Javier Bardem

    Supporting Actress Film
    Ruby Dee (oh bam! snap!!)

    Lead Actor Film
    Daniel Day-Lewis

    Lead Actress Film
Julie Christie (no!!! teary eyed for Marion)

    Outstanding Cast Film
    No Country for Old Men

Full list of winners here (with speeches)!

    Thoughts?
I’m so sad for Marion not winning, though Christie’s performance was moving… I’m still supporting Marion for the Oscar. LOL’ Come on! They showed the “Marcel! Marcel!” clip… that is like the best clip in the film, one of the longest scenes on the film and one of Marion’s finest!

  • Mycket Bra Svensk Film

LOL’ I don’t even know if my title would be grammatically correct, but I just wanted to say that I’ve reached my 3-films mark. Yup, that’s right! I finally saw my third film in Swedish today. It all began when I saw Så Som i Himmelen, which is now officially my first Svensk Film… then, also on Cinemax, I saw Den Osynlige – which sadly has already been Americanized. And today I saw Mitt Liv Som Hund, which was fantastic!

So can anyone recommend other Swedish films I could watch? Swedish film and international title on the comments would be appreciated! It’s most likely that Julyssa will comment, but others are welcomed to do it too! xD
