  • Rei Kawabuko: MET Gala 2017

I never really talk much about Fashion or the MET Gala, I barely remember last year’s theme (it was ‘The Future’), but I really dug the on in 2015 — China: Through the Looking Glass — in which Fan Bingbing’s cape blew me away (followed by Rihanna’s pizza dress). And usually, women’s fashion is more fun, but my Rei Kawabuko picks were Jaden Smith and Maxwell.

I didn’t love the grill when I saw it, but I really dug the whole look and his dreads as accessory.

  • Classic Hollywood Feud Feelings Were Had

Fox Series Latino finally aired the final episode of Ryan Murphy’s Feud with Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, and feelings were had~

I’ve been a huge Crawford admirer for many years now, and I’m so glad that there are people who have begun seeing her as something more than Wire Hangers Campy Crawford. Murphy, himself, enjoys Crawford’s campy self [1], and I do too, but I’m so happy we’re seeing her as something more. Jessica Lange’s isn’t exactly Joan Crawford, but her Lucille Le Sueur was pitch perfect.

  • Yu Aoi as Yo for Mix

A couple of days ago it was announced that Yu Aoi had joined the cast of Mix (ミックス。), the table tennis movie starring Gakki and Eita. They have an Instagram account and just updated with a picture of Yu-chan with panda hair tie alongside Hiroyuki Morisaki, I suppose, playing her husband.

I love that because of the white restaurant getup, the panda hair ties, people are asking if they’re playing Chinese. Yu-chan’s character name is Yo, though. BUt Morisaki’s is Cho, so~ of course.

  • Evan Rachel Wood’s Golden Globes Swag~

I only caught a bit of Sunday’s Golden Globes, and none of the red carpet so… I missed Evan. But I did see the picture of her outfit, and totally dig her outfit and attitude. Seems like Evan’s coming back with a vengeance~

Look at THAT! I love it.

  • Zhao Wei’s Cape Aesthetics~

I’m not one for girl fashion, but I just ran into this Zhao Wei Tumblr, and saw these pics of her wearing this cape. I love it. Is it Burberry? Since it’s the Burberry fashion runway xD I don’t know fashion show etiquette— can you go to a fashion show of a brand wearing another brand? xD

A couple of weeks ago someone shared this Modern Samurai Coats post from RocketNews24, which I loved. Like- LOVED. I would love to go out in the streets wearing that without being judged coz it’s never cold enough for that lol. I’ve always been super into baggy clothing (90’s child), and I’ve just started wearing baggy clothing once again. Harem pants are my favorite, at the moment~

  • Yoko Takahashi’s Mikako Ichikawa Travels with Masako Motai + Satomi Kobayashi

Are you guys following Yoko Takahashi’s instagram account? If not, you’re missing out on the snaps she’s sharing of Mikako Ichikawa traveling to Osaka with Masako Motai and Satomi Kobayashi— aptly hashtagged “Noppo to Masako no Futari Tabi” (#のっぽとまさこのふたり旅) and “Noppo to Jukujo no Futari Tabi” (のっぽと熟女のふたり旅). In this case, Mikako Ichikawa is Noppo because she’s lanky. xD There’s only one Noppo in my life, but it makes so much sense.

I also learned how to say a version of MILF in Japanese, coz Jukujo (熟女) is the word used for “attractive mature lady,” which is refering to Kobayashi.

    Masako-san is just Masako. xD

I’m almost hoping Hairi Katagiri shows up at one point in an actual photo.

I’ve also added a travel/tourism tag, finally. xD

  • Yu Aoi for Giuseppe Tornatore’s Geek

Oh, my gosh~ I just found this out while browsing Yu’s IMDb, and has left me incredibly disappointed with what used to be my English-based sources of Japanese cinema news- Yu’s shooting a movie, Geek, with Italy’s Giuseppe Tornatore, who’s obviously most known for his classic Cinema Paradiso.

Interlinea Film reports that the first section of shooting in Venice was done back in March, while shooting in Japan would be at a later date. I’ve seen people on Twitter posting about Yu Aoi at some recent shootings [1][2]. I wonder if it’s related to this.

Interlinea Film also attached this photo~

  • Come on, hey, Amy~

    Oh, man~ I got it bad~~~

Look who’s totally officially a Moomoo. First time ever with a Kpop group, too!

    Bonus of Su Yunying, though~

But I’m totally rocking the radish onesie!

Kigurumi is probably out of stock again.

  • The Lonely Girl Has Gone to Close Shinjuku Cinema Qualite Film Fest

A few items on Yu Aoi’s upcoming film, which we are calling The Lonely Girl Has Gone, but it should be noted that IMDb has it listed twice— one as Japanese Girls Never Die, and the other as Haruko Azumi Is Missing. Therefore, there is no official English title for the movie, despite the book being listed with the name in YesAsia [1].

According to Eiga.com, the film is set to close this year’s edition of the Shinjuku Cinema Qualite Film Festival (新宿シネマカリテの映画祭) in Tokyo, as part of the Qualite Fantastic! Cinema Collection 2016 (カリテ・ファンタスティック!シネマコレクション2016) presenting 71 films from 16 countries… including Taiwan’s Our Times [Trailer], which I totally recommend for a fresh rom-com.

The collection will be presented from July 16th to August 19th. In addition, there will also be presentations at Cine Libre Umeda (シネ・リーブル梅田) in Osaka between August 6th to the 26th, and Nakagawa Corona Cinema World (中川コロナシネマワールド) in Nagoya, Aichi, between August 6th to September 2nd.

    I also ran…

  • Flawless BiBi Zhou

I haven’t been stanning BiBi like I used to (I did listen to her new song, and I do know she’s on the latest Cold War 2 movie), but look at that face and flawless make-up! I don’t even know what the image is for. I was only able to find this black and white version on BiBi’s Weibo, so I’ll just call it a snapshot~

    It’s a flawless snapshot.
