Archives For 2009

YesAsia keyword alerts suck. LOL

CatchPlay Taiwan has released One Million Yen Girl with English Subtitles on Region 3, if anyone is interested. I will wait a month or so, in case a Hong Kong version shows up — though both would be Region 3 DVDs. In any case, I need to make a bigger order if I want to get it.

If you enjoyed One Million Yen Girl, you should buy the film =D

you know, to support Yu’s career, and that whole “she can carry a film on her own” concept.

Plus, it’s English subs, man!!! You need to be supporting Yu Aoi English Subbed projects~

I suck at Best Kissing Posts. It’s been over 10 months since my last posting on it.

Let’s make things clear first. To me, Cinema Paradiso was a film about love… but above all, it was a film about love of film, and life. My favorite version is not the Director’s cut, but most my friends loved it more because it focused more on the romantically tragic love between Salvatore and Elena.

That kiss on the rain during the public screening after Salvatore curses to the heavens about Elena not being there, and Elena coming back and kissing him like that it’s hot.

But the scene that made the movie for me was the last 3 minutes of the film, when grownSalvatore sits at the theater to watch what Alfredo had left. Continue Reading…

Dear Yu-chan~

November 10, 2009 — 4 Comments

It’s been like year and a half since I started fawning over you and the work you do. I feel like we’re on -chan terms by now (joking, joking). But please, PLEASE announce a good project for next year already. And I mean it like a good substantial (not like Honokaa Boy) role, and not a magazine batch. xD

I love your Photobooks, but you’re making me broke. LOL But if you’re working on a new PB, please PLEASE work with Yoko-san because you two work your magic together.

If you want to work on some series, I would also be happy. xD

There’s only one place for fandom in my life (if there were more, I wouldn’t work… sleep, eat or do other stuff) – and right now, Family Outing is pulling my strings hahaha, so hurry up! xD You are lucky I’m not particularly too fond of Hyori-unnie’s music. LOL

This really wouldn’t work on a 2hrs broadcast, but I seriously think that CCTV should buy this for broadcast of this year’s highlights. It’d be awesome to see this on the TV. xD Like Officially, you know?

And some shots look like miniature models, right? xD

Check it out yourself here. Awesome stuff.

I know this looks cool, but can you read anything on it? xD

It’s currently sold out, but I miss kids riding these. Now all they do is ride those battery mini-cars (some of them are cute, though xD), or just ride those Fisher Price plastic tricycles… or just play video games. LOL

This is a YAM update

November 8, 2009 — 2 Comments

We’re beginning official work on YAM007.

I’m pushing for a Crowd Lu review from someone (since I don’t really speak Chinese, it would be beneficial, right?) — Someone will be doing This Is It and even offer himself to review New Moon, which lessens my “I don’t really wanna watch this, but have to” load.

I’m looking for people to review… hopefully, An Education and Precious — cue Julz — and also looking for people interested in reviewing True Blood (the current seasons, or just the latest one), Mad Men Season 3, and if you feel like it Dexter Season 5.

All other current films (that haven’t been rated or reviewed in previous issues), latest music releases from around the world (released on October, November and December have priority over other 2009 releases), other shows that are finishing seasons~~~ and ANY books, since we are not picky with those. Ha!

KFood Does Taste Better…

November 7, 2009 — 2 Comments

After an episode of Family Outing.

I mean, a bowl of white rice with dried-spicy-caramelized squid can’t taste much better than it did, after watching sexy (or Bingu?) TOP – Hahahahaha. Also, trying to get my other friend to watch too. I think she will be hooked soon. More on that later~~~ So are we F.O.ing one people at a time now?

Hyori-unnie, you’re so awesome.

Yejin-unnie, I miss you!

*does Grasshopper dance* Hahahaha.

Since I’ve been jealous that my friends Turtle and JK are taking some really good typography classes, I have told them they can review their classes and assignments with me… that way they learn, and I also get to learn. xD

Anyway, JK referred me to FontStruct, which I had visited once after they showed up on a Communication Arts issue. However, I was to shy to try it out — I mean, that introductory quick animation seems a bit pro. But in the end, JK told me I should check it out because it was interesting, and his teacher like it quite a bit.

So I ended up playing with it to create a pixel-based font. I started out with my KATAKANA alphabet, which has some very nice forms and some very hard  to do~~~ This pixel font also works for typing in Spanish, French and Swedish =D

Sorry, no Hiragana at the moment.

Plus, Photoshop doesn’t seem to recognize the Japanese input, and just uses the default font for Japanese characters. What’s up with that? Does anyone know?
