  • GaIn Is Sexy Funny, Alright~

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — I find it shocking that this is the same girl that needed to research sexyness for Abracadabra. Having said that, I love LOVE LOVE her latest mini album, so much at first listen that I’ve already picked up a physical copy of it to have in my collection.

The track Tinkerbell is sick, and it makes an interesting contrast to this clip of GaIn giving pole-dancing lessons in a really funny way.

  • The Videographers Guide Ep. 1 – The Music Video

Remember the days back back in the day when MTV was about music videos, and they had a show called Making Of the video before premiering a music video? Remember when they used to announce music videos and it was important? I miss those days…

And even though these music video directors talk about the big budgets given to only top artists, it feels like it’s been ages since I’ve liked a western mainstream music video. The Rihannas and Britney Spears don’t impress me — though, I gotta admit, I didn’t mind that Katy Perry music video for Wide Awake.

I don’t mind Lady Gaga, but her last couple of MVs have been lost to me.

There are some other music videos that are not so mainstream that have indeed peaked my interest… but I’m taking my eye candy — all of it — from crack Kpop music videos. Because… you know When Kpop Went Beyond American Pop.

The 2NE1s, Big Bangs, and other idol groups with their glossy and marvelous candy music videos infect my eyes and earworm into my brain. It’s hard for Korea to actually put some emphasis into their creatives and they should, so we must work with them on that. Otherwise… how will people know about directors Hwang Soo Ah and Cha Eun Taek?

Your music videos matter, Korea. Pull yourself together!

  • Thuy Linh Tu on the Future of Fashion

The fashion industry is in the throes of recognizing that their new consumer is not the white middle class — it’s multiracial, it’s international, it’s transcultural.

Why the Rise of Asia in Fashion Isn’t as Beautiful as It Seems

  • The amazingness that is going to be Cloud Atlas~

    Just saying.

There is an 80% chance that I’m gonna love this movie even if everyone else hates it, because Doona Bae cries in the movie. And whenever she cries, I cry coz she’s amazing like that [1].

If I was pretty pump before, I’m super eager to watch this as soon as possible in the best quality possible. There are big BIG chances that I will buy this in Blu-ray. And I haven’t bought an “American” product in quite a while. Remember when Natalie Portman was attached to this?

You can check some more info here.

  • Korean Goodies from the Vault

I love saying that now, “From the vault.” xD

Anyway, I’m sure you guys know this video. It’s a classic one. One from when you first started using YouTube. It’s that hilarious video of the two Korean girls dancing to Yoo Chae-yeong’s Emotion [MV] — this is what years and years of listening to Kpop and watching variety shows does to you. I think even Hyori has danced to this song on Family Outing.

I can’t remember when I watched the video exactly, but it’s definitely one of the first videos I watched and re-watched laughing out loud with my friend before we began truly listening to Kpop.

  • Miki Nakatani: You Miss Me, Admit It!

No Nokaze link to Miki is a deal-breaker for me.

Okay, maybe not a deal-breaker, but I was astounded when the Memories of Matsuko banner with Nakatani-san showed up all Happy Wednesday on me when discussing the Korean re-adaptation of JIN.

Sure, we only have like 50 banners… but still, 1/50 chance xD

  • The L Word in the Jdrama World – Part 2: The Story

In the first part of this re-imagination of The L Word in a Jdrama universe, we saw my dreamcast.

I’m still a little unsure on one of my main details, though, and that’s whether I want Meisa Kuroki as Carmen — the hot Latina who sizzled people’s screens and made Shane go Loco (I’m sorry for the cheesy bad writing, but The L Word deserves this cheese)… or whether she should play Molly — the no-longer-straight law student who wouldn’t fall for Shane’s game, so I’m hoping to be able to make a reasonable mish-mash of the both of them.

Because I only have this one series [1][2].

  • The L Word in the Jdrama World – Part 1: The Cast

I guess it must be the Blogathon week, I just couldn’t shake that feeling that I had to talk about The L Word one way or the other… again. What better way to talk about than combining it with MY FAVORITE topic as of lately~ JDRAMA!

A while back [1], I found a post where a fan talked what Japanese stars they would pick if they ever wanted to remake The L Word in Japan. Of course, I went a step further. I thought about the HOW TOs in the adaptation of a Japanese The L Word… because, well- for starters, Japan in not the USA. Also, I can’t show Showtime content on Japanese television. Not if I want to use my dreamcast~~~

I made this Jdrama character chart because I take this sh!t seriously. LOL
