  • Shunji Iwai and Yu Aoi Together Again for The Case of Hana & Alice

    OMO~ OMG xD

According to the site formerly known as Nippon Cinema, Eigapedia, Shunji Iwai is working on an animated prequel of Hana & Alice, because- WHY NOT? It’s always good to have Yu Aoi back together with Iwai, despite the lack of Noboru Shinoda and Iwai’s uncertain background in animation. xD But I have a weakness for Yu Aoi voice-over acting. Both Aoi and Anne Suzuki were back in their respective roles, and apparently are done with their recording, telling us the story of how their friendship became what it was.

The production teased already with brief stills of the movie, and rough vignettes of the animated frames. The movie is set to open some time in February next year.

User Plano Piloto has translated the audio and on-screen text:

Hana: By the way, what’s your name?
    Alice: Arisugawa Tetsuko
[Alice, the most powerful transfer student in history.]
    Hana: I am-
    Alice: Arai Hana-san.
[Hana, the most powerful hikikomori in history.]
Hana: Why do you ask knowing it?
Alice: Eh? You asked my name, you hikikomori.
[The world’s smallest murder case happened when the two met.]
Hana: I don’t enjoy being one.

[The first animated feature film by Shunji Iwai.]

    Alice: A murder case?
Hana: Want to know what happened?
[Voice Actors / Yu Aoi as Alice / Anne Suzuki as Hana]
    Alice: Well… I’m not sure.

  • Seo Taiji’s Christmalo.win Vol. 9

Seo Taiji’s been busy this past week with the release of both versions of Sogyeok-dong (소격동) [IU Version][Seo Taiji Version], and now here’s the much awaited teaser for Christmalo.win (크리스말로윈), which will be his 9th album.

And it will release the same day as Marit Larsen’s 4th album!

    So much music~

  • Marit Doesn’t Wanna Talk About It

I felt kinda okay-ish when the song was leaked a couple of weeks ago, but now I kinda have started to really like it. Marit Larsen’s I Don’t Want to Talk About It shall be included in Marit’s 4th full-length studio album titled When the Morning Comes [1].

I wonder if it will be available in Amazon. I think it’d be sad to discontinue my Marit album collection, even though -according to my records- I’ve shifted 99% of my music activities to stream and downloads. With a record of just one physical album released in 2013 (which was a special gift I got).

  • Yuguo Releases Sunset Strip and More

    Good news and bad ones~

First, about a week or two ago Yuguo announced that they were finally releasing their third full studio album Sunset Strip (日落大道), which seemed like it had been in the planning for ages [1].

It’s the 23rd in China, and it happened!

You can listen to the album (and download the songs) via Xiami.

  • Sign Me Up for the Upcoming Shiina Ringo Concert Release

I was catching up with all my ‘to watch’ queue on YouTube which at some point had been inundated with Shiina Ringo thumbnails. After her split from Tokyo Jihen and the celebration of her debut 15 years ago, she’s releasing this gorgeous (and pricey) concert.

I was just marveling myself with the palest of pale queens and thought to myself that if I ever get to see her show live, I would probably cry. When Bjork was here for the first and only time, I remember tearing up a bit- the others I would tear up/cry for would be Shiina Ringo, Faye Wong… and BiBi, for sure.

It’s been ages since I last bought anything on HMV Japan.

  • Kishi Bashi ‘Philosophizes’ for Lighght

A couple of weeks ago (maybe during the beginning of the year), I discovered Kishi Bashi and the amazingness that is his 151a album. He’s just announced his new album titled Lighght, and has supposedly released this new track titled Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It! that I think is slightly different to the one included in his Philosophize! Chemicalize! EP last year.

  • Se Viene Shakira de la Vieja Escuela con Empire

I’ve been so disconnected from Shakira for so long. I still listen to her old albums, but that fandom fijacion that would have been is not there- that means I literally don’t know what’s new with Shakira. After the birth of her son, she’s making a comeback. The last single I sort of knew was Loba or She Wolf, so apparently it’s been less time since her last album.

Not a fan of Can’t Remember to Forget You, but her latest single Empire brought back all those Piez Descalzos and Donde Estan Los Ladrones vibes and feelings. Lyrics-wise still not there, but it’s okay.

All of a sudden interested on what’s coming up with her new album.

  • Huzaah! Gulaab Gang~

In my Indian Movie Journey, I haven’t exactly found fist-pumping fighting sequences. In fact, more often than not I found Indian fight foley to be quite funny with thuds and thumps. When I saw some snaps of Madhuri Dixit being violent, I was afraid she was gonna look a bit silly. But… she’s proven me wrong. At least the cut of the first trailer makes it very Fist-Pump Girl Power.

I’ve already watched it about a dozen times.

I’m so pumped, I’m gonna send it to MUBI right away.

Also… big big rush with Juhi Chawla here.

    subs here.

  • BiBi and Chris Lee Together!

I’m a little bit sad I have no one else to share this with. I think my dad would’ve loved seeing this clip of BiBi and Chris Lee together after all these years. It’s all gonna be so weird now, I have no one to share all my music with.

    More info here.

  • I’m Having These Feelings Again~

… but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdvE3w3hkqI

I noticed last time [1] that she had been generally in better spirits, and Britney seems happy here. She laughs and she reminisces — and she’s made me glimpse at Miley doing that thing she’s done and I’ve been trying to avoid coz I don’t want that mental image — but Britney seems… excited about her show in Vegas.

It will never be the same for me, of course, that illusion- that chance I had to see her live the time she came over, and I had all these pent-up nostalgic feelings but was never too sure I wanted to see her show and be disappointed. I then read a lot of bad reviews on it and was glad I chose not to go. Vegas is also never a destination I would think of going coz it doesn’t call me, so it’s likely I’ll never see her show.

    I just wish her happiness.
