So… halfway through my stay in Seoul and I’ve hardly seen much. In all honesty, we’ve been really tired jumping from one place to the other, so we’re taking this time to relax like we haven’t before…

Having said that, I’ve gotten the chance to meet up with friends that I haven’t had the chance to see in nearly six years, so it’s been definitely a nice experience — warm, despite the bizarre Seoul weather that’s greeted us, which includes a full day of rain (bus water splashing included), sunny mornings with scattered snow, and loads of icy wind which have contributed with my broken throat and runny nose.

I know I always talk about how I miss Vancouver and my friends, but my meeting with them has made me realize how much I miss hanging out with them over simple cups of coffee and snacks.

Of course, walking alone in Seoul through the streets and using public transportation made me think of that person. LOL So many people remind me of that person xD

I love domino-type of videos, as they all go Pythagoras Switch on me. This CM for FedEx is probably not as charming as Docomo’s Forest Xylophone commercial, but still… pretty darn good. Possibly even more effective than Docomo’s CM in the end, because… you know, it relates to the product. xD

After a few weeks since my last forum comments on IMDb, which I only visit for rating films and shows and almost never hang out at the boards any longer, I ended up looking at my comment history and found a post on the Shirley Holmes board…

Of course I ended up searching for “shirley holmes” on YouTube… lo and behold!

Meredith Henderson is living in L.A. and is a gamer~~~ I did not expect that, ever. She’s a full-on gaming dork too, getting excited over Comic Con and all. I didn’t understand half the things she talked about because I don’t game, but loads of my friends do.

I also ended up finding a copy of Espanol Latino Shirley Holmes! El Caso de la Bruja Wannabe with — of course — Shelley Duvall of The Shining. xD Espanol Latino dubs are hard to come by in full episodes, even though I have the first seasons of Shirley Holmes on tape with that dub. I wish I could come by the last season.

I have been waiting patiently for a number of years for a DVD release of that show.

Also buy right away… or you’ll end up with over-priced copies of them like Are You Afraid of the Dark xD which are around $100-$300 dollars per season (7 in total). But… if you have no issues in paying around $2k for a show on DVD, be my guest… LOL

I had sworn I had written a post on this a couple of years ago – but alas, untagged and improperly categorized. I can’t find it… or maybe my memory of it is that I wrote it, and I just ended up thinking about writing it…

The memories… or I guess, some memories of my past have come to hunt me these days. I can’t really stop thinking about it and that would’ve. Sighs, so many things going on.

Why did they have to come? I had already moved on… kinda. It only ever plagued my head once every two years, but alas… the surprise is never to be expected – hence the “surprise” part LOL

And oh you must know what you did~

That’s the longest title I’ve ever written. I think. Not sure, but pretty~

I think I’m too aware of awards this year, it’s just TOO MANY awards from around the world.

The NBR has named David Fincher’s The Social Network the Best Film of 2010, as well as Best Director for Fincher and Best Actor for Jesse Eisenberg who played MovieZuckerberg.

Don’t really know how I feel about The Social Network — I liked it fine, but didn’t completely love it. I would say it’s a good movie, but it really lacked a personal point for me.

Anyway~~~ here we go~

Wow, amazing AMAZING stuff by Michel Gagné (some animation in Ratatouille and ALl Dogs Go to Heaven) in Sensology – shortlisted in the list of 10 animated shorts for the Oscar. It needs to be between the nominees.

And if it wins? Woah, does that mean the gap between animation and motion graphics will be even more blurred? Up until now, I haven’t seen any “motion graphic” piece win. They nominated I Met the Walrus, but it lost. I think that’s the closest nominee I’ve seen that looks more like a motion graphic piece, than an animated short.

Always amazing animation stuff coming from Canada, and no – I’m not being biased ;P

Alright, alright – I am hardly not biased… but since going on my Joan Crawford marathon with DVDs and books — yeh, I’ve spent a bunch of $$$ on Crawford stuff this month — I’ve been thinking that Crawford’s life would make one heck of an interesting movie.

No, I’m not talking Mommie Dearest.

Imagine this:

Please, Carly Pope in her Crawford costume? Of course, no squinting of the eyes. Plus, Pope has already sort of played Crawford when they did that spoof on Ryan Murphy’s Popular.

She can totally nail it.

Crawford’s biopic would begin from her mysterious childhood, not knowing when exactly. Her biological father abandons her family, and later her stepfather is gone. Her life affected by it, and then her short experience at school. Not being an educated person would mark her life in that she feels not good enough. She’s not a sex bomb like other actresses, or seen as good as more talented actresses like Bette Davis — we can even bring Leslie Bibb for it. Crawford needed to prove she belong in that MGM lot, and she knew she only had her on street smarts to get ahead~~~

We gotta admit Crawford pushed women away… especially threatening to her career because she was insecure. With failed marriages, no biological children, her only “baby” was her career which started slipping away with the years. However, she was a survivor… changing to what the public needed her to be, and what she needed to be to survive.

A film with the struggles to reach the stars… from flapper to Hollywood diva, her marriages, and lovers~~~ including an on/off affair with Clark Gable, her friendship with him… what would have happened if both their love lives had finally met in the middle? Her miscarriages, her ultimate decision to adopt kids, her tormented relationship with the first two… until the final announcement of the release of Mommie Dearest, and her cutting her first two kids off her will.

Hollywood, make it happen. Her life is material for even two films… but considering we know so little of her beginning years, you can cram it into one, right?

Oh, hi there Rachel McAdams~

I know there are a few movies you’re working on, but that’s all I know xD

I’m not really a huge fan of Arcade Fire, but I do like their image and visuals. I like them enough to appreciate them, and enjoy their music enough to give their albums a go.

Ready to Start is an old school rock video shot in black and white.
It’s got great energy, and great visual contrast.
