Lily Chou Chou – Kokyu Re-Issue

So this totally slipped my mind! I got the re-issue of Breathe!!! The Lily Chou Chou album from the Lily film by Shunji Iwai. The first time you see the film is so SO difficult~~ it’s such a hard theme, and characters you just want to slap around. I was a kid not long ago, and I felt so disconnected from THAT reality… yet, the film. You go back to it, and absorb it. The visuals, the music… it’s heartbreak.

Salyu, her voice~~ I fell in love with the soundtrack. The album is an experience all on its own… perhaps more than Salyu’s other albums. It’s the film, it’s because the album is strongly connected to that reality that it works so well… perhaps, a bit poetic. It’s THAT magical. At least to me, and to all the people that had bought the first issue of the album~~~ and maybe the reason WHY it was re-released.

I just want to know, from the people that bought the first run of copies… is it the same as the re-issue? Or has something changed? Hence, the re-issue credits in the album (including a re-design credit) ~ your thoughts?

Natalie Portman is an Elephant! And other Sesame Street Presentations

TotalFilm.com has ranked Natalie as one of their best Sesame Street appearances xD Yes, the one with the elephant… cute as a button. I always thought Sesame Street (aka. Plaza Sesamo) was a pretty good kid’s show… and I always thought Elmo was cute, plus! he doesn’t speak like a stupid Teletubbie. “nuff said.

Juri with WOWOW~ and with Jiji no e Tegami

WOWOW + Juri!!!! Exciting!!

As you know, I LOVED WOWOW’s Camouflage with Yu Aoi. *hearts* So the prospect of a WOWOW project with Juri (before she goes off to Europe to film more Nodame – Julz, this is your cue) is NUTZ. The current working title apparently is:
GI~TA~ KE~SU no Onna –> A Girl with a Guitar Case, but you know that could change just like Camouflage switched titles.

As you know, I liked Hito no SEKKUSU (Don’t Laugh at my Romance) and Hyakuman-en (One Million Yen Girl) which had WOWOW attached… of course that might had to do with Yu Aoi as well ~ but these prospects are the same. ^^

ON OTHER NEWS!

There’s a trailer out for Juri’s North India Documentary with NHK on the Jiji no e Tegami project, or Grandfather’s Letters… which in case you didn’t know~~~ Juri has a song for… (just like she has Onara Taisou for Nodame).

The documentary will be on NHK March 20th (Friday) from 8pm to 9.29pm (LOL, 29? haha… sorry). Set your clocks, and I will set my own time… 6am??? GOSH~

MixWit is Back, Sort of~~

Since I was bummed over the closing of Mixwit, I had almost decided to go back to Deezer. Luckily! !!! I got and email from the people at Mixwit saying they had made backups of the previously done mixtapes~~~ SO NOW!! They’re BACK!!!!

And even more AWESOME??? The Mixwit-tapey player is now a widget! And open-sourced MixWidget~~ So head over to MixWidget.org to download the player and use it on your own… or if you fancy~ you can get the source code. NIFTY!

If You Seek Amy, BritneyTV~~

Oh, we LOVE it when YouTube has region restrictions, no?

You’d think Britney Spears fans around the world, and not only located in the US would try to watch her videos on YouTube. I would get the ‘age restriction’ – but come on! who hasn’t lied into those signup forms before, right? – But hey! Not only I can’t watch Britney videos from BritneyTV… I also found a lot of other music videos (eg. Cobrastyle by Robyn) that I couldn’t watch because of this. As if!

Anyway, I had just found out Britney released her new video (third, I think) – If You Seek Amy… which I thought was the best track on Circus… not because my name is featured, but because it’s actually kind of smart and sassy. The video SUCKS though… she hasn’t made a good video since she stopped having general shots of choreography. You can’t deny the close shots and quick edits while ‘dancing’ is to hide the fact that she’s not moving much.

Salyu Madness, News and Music Links

I must have died and gone to heaven… xD I’m listening to Salyu, who just released a two-track single titled Corteo/HALFWAY, which you can download over at the Salyu LJ Community… which I just found. Heaven!

There, I also found out that Salyu’s turn as Lily Chou Chou on the Shunji Iwai film of the similar name (where Yu shows up) that sprang a double album… including Breathe (Kokyu) has been re-released. Why is that GOOD? Well, because Kokyu was totally sold out online… and it’s probably one of the finest contemporary albums out there. So now I just gotta get money to buy it hahahahaha.

CD Japan – $24.26
YesAsia – $27.25
Amazon.co.jp – 2.500 Yen

Also, apparently… she also released Mercmal in THREE different editions… the regular (of course!), one limited edition with a DVD of a concert in Yohohama, and another limited edition with and extra album with her collaboration work. Call me crazy, I want just the DVD with her collaboration work, I think. I’m split! I think I want the concert more… since apparently the other only has 3 tracks? I’m not sure I want to pay +$30 for a greatest hits album… I’m undecided!!! LOL

Let’s see…
Amazon.co.jp has the two limited edition out of stock, and only has the regular one at 3000 Yen.
CD JAPAN has the limited collaboration edition at $32.99, and the regular edition at $29.11.
And YesAsia still has the limited with DVD edition at $40.25, the regular edition at $31.25.
