Archives For music video

I never thought that I would actually, you know, really like a Hatsune Miku song. I had listened to a couple livetune tracks, but left them at bay until I saw Takashi Murakami’s Jellyfish Eyes where he used the song Last Night, Good Night to great effects during the ending credits. It was around 3-4am, so the effects of the song was perfect.

Too bad the only version available on my iTunes is the one done with Pharrell to promote the movie somehow, and nothing prior to 2012 is on.

On the topic of Miku, such a hybrid. I don’t know what to tag this post.

If you bother to scan comments from Marit Larsen’s (or Marion’s) fandoms, you’d notice that she has a sizable following in South East Asia (Malaysia and Singapore pop up a lot), as well as Latin Americans (Mexico and Chile are the most frequent), and it just suddenly clicked to me why this might have happened. One of them is, of course, this clip of M2M singing the Mandarin version of their Shades of Purple single Pretty Boy. Then there’s the even rarer version of M2M’s Everything You Do [MV] in Spanish- aptly translated to Todo lo que Haces [MV].

My Mandarin is not perfect, but it sounds pretty okay… as does their Spanish. As the Japanese would say~~~ ah, natsukashii na.

Also~ I can’t wait for Marit’s new album.

UMPH!

Remember when Jennifer Lopez debuted with If You Had my Love? I listen to On the 6 from time to time, especially because her duet with Marc Anthony No Me Ames [MV] is one of my favorites to lipsync xD

Remember when 1999 had every single music video in metallic colors and had a Y2K theme or similar? Remember when J.Lo was with Puffy, pre-Ben, pre-marriage to Marc, and could dance… and didn’t make ridiculous performances with Pitbull for the World Cup?

People may think that this song is so un-Latina of her, but the album actually has a good mixture of Latino in there~

It feels like ages ago, but about five years ago Crowd Lu geek his way into my music heart [1], and I’ve loved him ever since. No questions about it. It isn’t the case so much with Kreva, whom I’ve only just met but haven’t properly been introduced because- DUH! Japan is always a bitch about distribution. It’s gotten better with YouTube, but Kreva’s iTunes page is bare except for his collaboration with Miyavi.

And I’m too lazy to do ‘other things’ anyway~

So while YouTubing, I ran into this:

Oh Yeah~

This YouTube thing telling me I should maybe “watch” some videos that I had already watched had me clicking on the BackStreet Boys’ I Want It That Way,because… WHY NOT? — turning me into a 15-year-old all over again.

Actually, I was a lot younger. I was probably closer to 13, but you can’t really tell considering distribution wasn’t instant back then. My English skills weren’t consistent back then, and I remember we’d all share the lyrics to the song from an ex-classmate that was visiting when she’d left for the US. Printed out emails to share lyrics. xD

Up until these days, whenever I listen to songs of the 90s, it’s likely I have to stop what I’m doing and sing at the top of my lungs… even though I can’t reach the notes any longer. LOL I also can’t sing along while doing choreography either. xD I also don’t bother to learn lyrics of songs either. It’s not only because 80% of the music I listen to now it’s in a language I can’t converse in, there’s also the amount of music that needs to be heard.

It’s not because I’m old or anything xD

No~~~ ;P

Paraphrasing this different…

小时候,爸爸说《睡不着的时候就看看天空找到最亮的那颗星星,魔法师就会送你一个美梦》。睡梦中,我知道魔法师带着爸爸回来了。

When I was little, dad used to say, “when you can’t sleep, just look to the sky. Find the brightest star, and the magician will grant you a beautiful dream.” In the dream, I know the magician will bring my father back.

Father’s day is coming up soon, and all the promotion has made it a difficult start of the month. This is the latest song to make me cry.

I was being a diligent updater and news reporter when I ran into my first Indian boyband.

Admittedly, I clicked on the link because I was curious with the name Meiyang Chang [1] in the Sony Music India channel… which is how I saw this version of Azul Azul’s La Bomba [MV] LOL

That close-up on Chulpan Khamatova’s flawless face is perfection.

Though I don’t think that these ten months worth of wait after the release of the Making Of [1] back in January make the video good, I’m happy the video is finally out. I haven’t been able to find an official HD upload of it, so this fan upload will have to do for now.

— edit —

There’s an official upload, but surprisingly it isn’t in HD either.

Oh, I’m getting kinda good at this, no?

I almost forgot checking out this new video that’s popped up, by Russian alt rock band Neschastny Sluchai (Несчастный Случай) — Khamatova ice-skated to one of their songs #12 — and their new music video for the song Suyeta Suyet (Суета Сует) which translates as something like Vanity of Vanities, perhaps?

The music video is in the style of Her Morning Elegance [1] or Leessang’s Turned of the TV [MV] or maybe Monsieur Perine’s Cou Cou [MV], and it was directed by Russian animator Sergey Merinov (Сергей Меринов) [YouTube].

The video stars Aleksey Kortnev (Алексей Кортнев), whom I just recently found out voiced Jack Skellington in the Russian dubbed version of The Nightmare Before Christmas; as well as -obviously- Chulpan Khamatova. ;P

This also gives me reason to talk about other Khamatova music video projects~ Apparently, the music video for Arbenina’s Idi Ko Mne [1] still hasn’t been released. Add to that: DDT’s Gde My Lyetim (Где мы летим) [MV], which apparently translated to something like Where We Fly. I’m still fuzzy on Russian grammar.

— Update Oct. 18th 2013 —

The music video for Idi Ko Mne is out. [1]
