  • Vending Machine Touch Screen

I haven’t bought anything on a vending machine in a VERY long time, unless you count the times I’ve used machines that dispense train tickets — and that would probably be twice in a little more than a year.

So this video of a vending machine in Japan using a Touch Screen is very interesting to me. Is there a practical reason they would need to switch regular vending machines to these touch screens? I can’t think of any reason at the moment, then again- it’s nearly 5am. This sort of posting always happens at this time of night/morning.

  • Yu Aoi Website Re-vamp

After many many MANY years, Yu Aoi’s Itoh Company web page will be redesigned. At the moment, you are greeted by the message excusing themselves for the blank page, and given a pop-up link to her Itoh profile.

I wonder what they will come up with.

And no, Itoh Company didn’t contact me. xD

  • Downloads, Streamings, and Buys- Oh, My!

I know so many people who would download loads of music for free, but still buy the stuff they liked (usually discovered from their own or other people’s free downloads). Now those same people listen to Spotify and feel that they have paid the artists, so no longer feel the need to buy the songs they like.

  • Japan Newspaper App for Kids

The Tokyo Shimbun (東京新聞) has developed an application for children to help them read their newspaper — difficult kanjis and all — by translating kanji into easy to read hiragana and other augmented reality features enhanced with animation and stuff.

I don’t think the Tokyo Shimbun realized that they’ve developed a tool for foreigners to read their newspaper. xD

  • Victoria Secret Hates Consent… but everyone else loves it.

The guys at PINK Nation did the unimaginable- they took Victoria Secret’s brand and spun it around. Instead of showing a skinny white (and tanned) VS model sporting a sexy set telling their significant others that it’s a “sure thing” and a string of other slogans, they showed on their front page a curvy model of color wearing… what might or could have been a Victoria Secret underwear with the slogan “No Means No.”

    It was Pink Loves Consent.

Response was positive, of course, from girls and women that use Victoria Secret (and even employees! LOL), but when the company found out, the site was momentarily taken down.

Victoria Secret, that’s what we call one bad move after the other.

  • Salyu x Salyu – Color Magic~

salyu x salyu had a new song out? Titled Color Magic (カラーマジック, or the KATAKANA~ pronunciation KARA~ MAJIKKU — you know Katakana baffles me), it was included in NHK’s Design Ah (デザインあ), but you know it would be the perfect companion song to 6COLORS.

The song (if my Japanese is correct) will be included in the soundtrack of the show to be released on January 23rd.

They also have an awesome (interactive) song titled Ah’s Song (「あ」のうた).

  • Stoker’s International Poster Trailer

Hmph! Have you seen this video of the international poster for Park Chan-wook’s English-debut, Stoker? I mean, it’s not enough that it’s Park Chan-wook, but it’s also got Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska, with a bunch of other good people. There’s this poster~~~

With the trailer edited with the making of the poster, weaving in and giving links to bits and pieces of the story, all layered on top with Emily Wells’ Becomes the Color. Any ideas on who designed/illustrated this?
