  • The L Word + Yu Aoi Fandom Crossover

I’m sorry, I had to post this. xD

I ran into this post in Japanese talking about something about a The L Word London/British BBC remake version (?), and the poster asked herself who she would cast in a Japanese remake of The L Word… or something like that. You know, you should always take my translations with a grain of salt. xD

    Bolding mine~

    As Bette Porter: Yuki Amami
    As Tina Kennard: Yuriko Ishida
    As Alice Pieszecki: Miho Kanno
    As Dana Fairbanks: Rinka
As Lara Perkins: Karina Nose (?)
As Jenny Schecter: Yu Aoi <- I “WHAT” at this one xD
    As Marina Ferrer: Sachie Hara
As Shane McCutcheon: Kou Shibasaki <- OMG I laughed at this one, actually snorted.
As Carmen de la Pica Morales: MEISA Kuroki
As Eva Torres (aka. Papi): Anna Tsuchiya <- I burst out laughing ‘coz I can picture it.
    As Helena Peabody: Yuki Matsushita

First thoughts? It would be actually kind of exciting… considering Jenny was often described as “the main character” on the show, that would mean Yu on a new show xD and… no disrespect to Mia Kirshner and her Jenny, but OMG… how much I wanted to hit Jenny in the face. LOL She was… exasperating. So in that sense, I would like to see if Yu could make me want to punch her in the face with her Jenny, or if the Japanese writers (and Yu’s new interpretation) would be able to make me sympathetic towards her.

And if by any chance it gets remade… well, I doubt any Japanese network would be able to get away with all the smut, so all the smut would have to be implied. I don’t have a problem with that, as I actually think that all the smut took away from whatever little you could salvage from the telenovela.

*sighs* I haven’t talk about The L Word since it ended… unless you count the Shane posts xD And talking about Shane… how about Kou Shibasaki as her? I don’t know man… Shane’s like iconic. LOL It’s like you say “Shane” and people should know, you know? Could Shibasaki play suave? I don’t know any actress that could pull of Shane’s player attitude.

And since we’re talking about players… how about Papi. You know why I laughed with the suggestion of Tsuchiya. Because I was reminded the time I was watching Kamikaze Girls with a friend, and Anna Tsuchiya, playing Ichigo, was on screen with Momoko (played by Kyoko Fukada) and my friend literally “She’s sooooo cool” and then she turned around and asked me whether Kamikaze Girls was a gay film. Hence, I can picture Tsuchiya playing Papi.

    Thoughts?

Luckily for me, I hate crowds… so I would probably skip this for the rest of the year. xD Plus, a Harry Potter setting would look much better in winter or fall… even if it’s a Florida winter~ xD

Could you imagine if there were actual snow in Hogsmeade? SPAZZ xP

I want my wand, and to taste butterbeer… and I actually wouldn’t mind eating there.

    Lainey’s description was amazing.

  • Akiba Fest and other stuff… like BiBi’s new album~

Akiba Fest is today. Never been to it, I guess there will be loads of otakus there. xD

Today, had to attend the press conference for it… ooh, fancy~ Patricia Acevedo (the Latin American voice of Lisa Simpson, Lady Oscar, and Chichi from Dragon Ball), as well as Laura Torres… who is the only dubbing actress I ever recognize on tv merits only, because she is the voice of Daria… as well as Gabrielle on Xena, and I grew up with that dubbing… and then I heard her as Catherine Willows on CSI. Trippy. Then I found out she’s also been Goku when he was a kid, as well as Gohan and Goten… plus, Tommy Pickles from Rugrats, and Shippo on Inuyasha. I’m pretty sure she’s done Happy Feet too. LOL

    During the conference…

    They had a moment. xD

Anyway… Bibi’s album just hit the net.

  • OK GO – End Love

Another single from their album Of The Blue Colour of the Sky.
Directed by OK Go, Eric Gunther, and Jeff Lieberman~

After their first and second album, and a couple of listens to them… OK Go are seriously hit or miss for me. I used to dig tracks like Here We Go Again, and C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips and stuff like that, but now it gets boring quite easily. Their videos, however, you just want to keep on watching.

I don’t think they surpassed themselves, though. I mean, This Too Shall Pass, right?

PS: The duck makes me laugh. xD

  • RSA Animate – Drive: The Surprising Truth about what Motivates us

You’d better have 10min to spare to watch this.

I think… wow… so much information, and it makes sense. I think I’m forwarding this to every new client I get… something like “Before you decide if you want to work with me, take a look at this.” LOL

  • Japanese Music for June 2010!

I really wanted to change one of the songs, but the song I wanted to add has escaped my mind. I have only heard it a couple of times, so the group didn’t stick with me… only the description as “they look like the Japanese Rolling Stones” – They lead singer even looked a bit Mick Jaggerish with his skinny pants and his movements. The song name — I suppose — is KIMOCHI, but because it has such a name, it seems impossible to Google. Do you know the song I’m talking about?

The guys kept singing KIMOCHI, and I’m pretty sure it was written in Katakana.

    Anyway, if you know… leave a message~

    *EDIT*
Yes, I found it. I’m so good. xD Took 2hrs though xD

In the meantime, you gotta listen to this new Japanese mix~

  • Mark Ronson & The Business INTL – Bang Bang Bang

Mark Ronson featuring QTIP and MNDR.

I really enjoyed Ronson’s last album, and I think he’s a really great producer. However, I think he really dropped the ball with this song… or maybe I just don’t like his type of music any longer. Honestly, it’s been ages since I heard anything from him xD

But the French and Japanese? Sounds so weird.

Does anyone feel the video is so Liveman or Flashman? [why the 90’s ruled]
