Archives For ranveer singh

Well, it’s been a long time. But I’m not letting October be the month of no posts, so here’s a little something~

Since my return to Kpop, I’ve become a lot more lethargic (plus, working overnight), so I’ve been trying to find that time again to run and exercise. Ranveer Singh, been the Master of Hype, has the two best songs to get ya pumping; and the crew at Exodus Artistry have a mix of both songs that’s the perfect workout!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I spent all day listening to Xmas music xD

During this year’s family dinner, I made a decision on my New Year resolution- I bow to try to not be a moral superior asshole in discussions. And I kowtow to those I had ugly discussions with (if any), if I ever made you scream at your screen- I’m sorry. I had an ugly discussion about food! FOOD! A discussion on food got ugly! LOL It was like being on an internet forum, and I kept feeding the troll. I’m sorry.

Anyway~

Today I decided to not stress over my End of the Year list any longer, so I finally published my list of Favorite Films of 2015~

I managed to get 195, without counting the films that I didn’t rank because I don’t rate certain documentaries. I managed to squeeze in Carol, The Revenant, and Spotlight… which did almost crack my Top10 Films in English. I wonder if I hadn’t post the list, if it would’ve placed differently.

Oh, that also means that, just like my movie collection, I’ve segregated my lists by languages. There’s a general list, but also included lists for films in English, Chinese/Mandarin, Indian, Latino and Miscellaneous languages, which includes all languages that I didn’t watch enough films for a proper Top10.

Oh, Happy Chinese New Year! Let’s start my (supposedly) bad-luck Goat Year with the now-mandatory Letterboxd list of my film collection~

I have a really weird history with films– born in the late 80s, you’d think I would’ve grown watching loads of 90s kids stuff, but I actually grew up with a lot of Silly Symphonies (which were released in the 30s) and loads of Disney 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s stuff, plus a lot of more grown up 80s movies. Poltergeist, The Thing, The Fly and The Stuff were particularly scary stuff (and I’m pretty sure I was scared of yogurt or white stuff at some point).

I don’t ever remember buying any original VHS tape, except for the rare birthday gift of a Disney’s Sing-Along Songs chapter or that X-Men tape I have. My first DVDs buys were Coyote Ugly, She’s All That and Loser — you can’t blame me. I was a 15-year-old girl. The collection grew bigger, and possibly exploded during my years abroad. I’m nearing my 500th movie.

For the International HIV/AIDS day, Ranveer Singh (ever the sexy) got together with MTV India and Durex to try to demystify sex in the country, where the topic is usually completely hush-hush or chup-chup. He’s straight-forward, candid, sexy, funny… and gets to awkward moments when he conjures the images of everyone’s parents creating us. Though, he does have a point.

It’s been a while already – over six months, to be exact – my quiverations for Ranveer are still pretty consistent. Like, he seems completely changed, focus and serious funny in the latest Anupama Chopra interview he had where he even makes her laugh. Polka dotted suit and all. His last test will be sitting on a couch with Arjun Kapoor and NOT BE THIS EVER AGAIN.

I do enjoy where his personality brand is going.

I’m terrible with timing, aren’t I?

I’m always dissatisfied with my end of the year lists, but I supposed a WHOLE year of catching up is good enough for me to have a proper idea of what I like, right? I managed to squeeze in 227 movies, the rest is history. I hope you like it, that you don’t hate on me for not including some of your faves, that you celebrate that we loved some of others, and that you love me for introducing you to one title you missed.

Do your thing.

Now it’s time for the boys~

Who made it and who didn’t? I was surprised myself. LOL Don’t forget to comment and share ;)

It’s another double feature!

La Doña has been in the mood for fighting this week [1], and this time she’s taking Deepika Padukone- or I suppose El Peñon de las Animas (The Rock of Souls) is taking Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela, where both balas and golis are exchanged nonchalantly, and music is spared in between two families that have been warring for generations.

Though Maria Felix is playing much more of a señorita role on this one (than usual), and this western musical (that’s what all rancheras are, right?) gets some pretty nifty cinematography and sassy moments and lyrics, there’s one thing that Ram-Leela has~~~ and that is Supriya Pathak.

Are! Mashallah, mashallah~

This is the first time in my movie-counting life that I’ve seen over 50 movies by the middle of the year. As a general number, I picked 48 a year, to make sure I -at least- watched one film a week for my end of the year list.

There’s a LOT of bad and meh movies so far, but there’s also a decent Top10. Not unbelievable, but decent. It’s a working one that would do for a Dec.31 or Jan.01 publishing date. LOL

I’m trying to fight it, but I don’t think I can at the moment. Here’s Ranveer Singh in all his sexy relaxed glory. Interestingly enough, I prefer him with facial hair.

Like unspeakable attraction right there.

Also, no photographer credits found.

Also as a Latin American with b/v pronunciation and listening issues, I’m having a hard time figuring out when people refer to Ranbir or Ranveer because people (in India) don’t care for freaking last names. LOL

Let’s tag this NSFW on the basis that is a condom commercial, alright? Otherwise, you’re really safe watching it considering some music videos are way WAYYY more risky than this I-don’t-know-if-I-should-be-embarrassed-or-do-the-rex commercial.

I have sooooo many conflicting feelings on Ranveer Singh. I look at him, see him act on movies, look at his photos, be a dork in short spans of time… and I find him oddly attractive. Then I see him behaving in a rather lengthy interview, and my logic wants it to continue- but it’s off. Totally OFF. The Koffee with Karan episode he did with Arjun Kapoor, it grossed me out.

As a general reaction, I get all Madhuri Dixit and laugh my butt off saying “he’s hilarious.”

The commercial starts off pretty cringe-worthy until you reach the 10-sec mark, and a goofy loose-pant Ranveer does a funny dance. The music (or at least the beat) is a bit generic, you can think of a dozen songs that are catchy and might sound similar to it (Psy, LMFAO, I felt all of you guys — and i don’t even like you), and he certainly shouldn’t quite his job as an actor.

BUT! He’s such a dufus. I can’t help it~

I haven’t been able to find anything on it, but rumor has it that DigitasLbi was in charge of the ad, which seems to target women as their demographic. Why should condoms be solely a guy’s responsibility, no?

I can’t believe there’s still people who don’t practice safe sex.
