and it’s cleaned up its image…

lilith-fair

Coz that totally doesn’t mean “hippie chick”

Lilith Fair will be back with shows with a kind of a nice variety of music from Chantal Kreviazuk, Colbie Caillat, Corinne Bailey Rae, Emmylou Harris, Erykah Badu, Indigo Girls, Ingrid Michaelson, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Sara Bareilles, Sarah McLachlan,  Sheryl Crow, Sugarland, Tegan and Sara, Ximena Sariñana.

Yup, that’s right. Ximena Sariñana from Mexico.

That’s pretty cool. Now if only they’d get Regina Spektor, The Sounds, CSS, The Ting Tings, St. Vincent (though I think she was against Lilith Fair),  Marit Larsen, how about some more foreign performers? Loads of Asian female performers… Salyu, Cheer Chen… Faye Wong (yeah, right! I heard she’s coming back on tour next year though!), Utada Hikaru xD

More info over at the Lilith Fair website.

On my search for 2009 released albums, I stumbled across this post by Layabozi listing 60 Chinese Albums to Show Off — I so need to affiliate with them for YAM. Once Nate gets his crap sorted… Anyway, I digress~~~

They got some people working as musicians or music PR peeps~ to choose the albums to show off as a way to commemorate the 60 years of the Republic of China. Though, there seems to be a glitch on their list because a Hedgehog album seems to be showing more than once there~~~ xD

The ones on the list that I could already be showing off are:

  • Hedgehog – Noise Hit World
don’t mind the no-sense English. It’s a really FUN album.
  • Faye Wong – Restless
  • Khalil Fong – This Love
  • Chang Shi Lei – Niu China
  • Faye Wong – Fable
  • Carsick Cars – Carsick Cars

And I could be adding to my Show Off list…

  • Faye Wong – Faye Wong (2001)
  • Faye Wong – To Love
  • Yuguo – Babel
  • Zhou Bichang – WOW

Though I’m sure choosing a Wang Leehom album would get me some minus points.

I just noticed I can direct link to my LivingSocial:Albums on Facebook.
Babo me~ now if only they would allow embedding…

LivingSocial Albums

5 albums in Chinese, and loads of high-rated Asian albums. LOL
You can fully check it all out here.

Gigante PosterGigante (2009)
Genre: Subtle Drama with Romantic Comedy Moments
Starring: Horacio Camandule & Leonor Svarcas
Directed by: Adrian Biniez

Gigante (Giant – literal translation) tells the story of Jara, a big security guard that works night shifts at a supermarket, who begins having feelings – maybe a bit of stalkery feelings – for the pretty floor cleaner.

This is the thing about films, your characters can do anything and you can feel whatever you want~ In the real world, having someone secretly following you around would totally freak you out, but it doesn’t happen in Gigante.

Jara sees the floor cleaner through the security cameras, and as days go by he checks on her without her ever knowing. One day he decides to see where she goes when she’s not working only to find out she goes to the Internet cabins, after that he sort of makes a habit out of following her and “watching out” for her, in the process knowing about her likes. He even saves her a couple of times at work, and even defends her honor when some cab driver shouts obscenities/pick-up lines at her – It’s cute in the film, but I don’t recommend anyone trying his moves in the real world. Moreover, I don’t know~ I didn’t feel her. Especially at work, she was absent-minded, and a bit clumsy… actually she exasperated me a bit during her supermarket scenes.

The film has its good moments, even though I saw people sleeping, don’t get me wrong. However, if I wanted to feel good about stalking someone, I’d watch Faye Wong on Wong Kar-Wai’s Chungking Express stalking Tony Leung. LOL – 3/5

Holy mother of O.o

Seo Taiji - Vol. 8 Atomos Cover

It’s Seo Taiji! I flipped out in the morning, even though I’m just listening to it.

This is just too much to take in… First Bibi, now Seo Taiji~~~ All I need now is to find out Faye Wong has released a new album, and I can die happy. Buahaha. No, seriously though~~~ I’m divided. I would love a new album by Faye, but I’m afraid I won’t lurv the album. LOL – To Love was PURRRRfection – really, I almost got scammed just to get it. xD
