Archives For winners

These were announced on December, LOL
And I didn’t even post on 2008 xD

But the Satellite Awards were out, sadly Toni Collete lost Best Actress Comedy in favor of Lea Michelle on Glee. And Toni lost her SAG nod… that means I got 2/4. Damn.

Anyway, I dunno how popular the Satellite is, but they do have some wacky choices.

First of all, there was no Avatar. Praise Geezus. LOL

These are the Top10 2009 Films according to them:

  • (500) Days of Summer
  • A Serious Man
  • An Education
  • Bright Star
  • Inglourious Basterds
  • Nine
  • Precious
  • The Hurt Locker
  • The Stoning of Soraya M.
  • Up in the Air

This race is turning into an interesting one, as the Director’s Guild names Kathryn Bigelow the Best Director of the year for her film The Hurt Locker. Why this is pretty awesome? She’s the first female director to ever get it… which means she might be writing Oscar history if she wins that night. *crosses fingers*

Other winners are the directors of the documentary The Cove (omg, I really wanna be wrong on this one), Mad Men… and Modern Family.

Check out all the winners here.

uh huh!

Voting results are in! Which is exciting… and a bit surprising, I think xD

Anyway, thank you everyone who nominated their films on the first round, and thank you to everyone else who took time to vote… hopefully you all had taken time to watch all (or at least most) of the nominated films~ and discovered gems!

Among the love, there’s The Hurt Locker, Basterds, District 9, you know… the usual suspects, plus some love for Moon, Antichrist… and surprisingly enough, Watchmen. ;P

Here are the winners…

Mix it up, mix it up for an entertaining Road to the Oscar… After Avatar’s win at the Globes (crazy!), Basterds’ win at the SAG on Saturday, and Locker’s win at the Producers Guild Award on Sunday… who’s gonna win? It only looks like it’s a sure thing for Up as this year’s Best Animated Feature (okay…), and The Cove as this year’s Documentary (best? I doubt).

SAG 2010 Winners

January 24, 2010 — Leave a comment

Sorry, I couldn’t blog the SAG live…
my internet connection died on me at 8pm, and just got it back.

I was kind of Okay-ish with my predictions xD

And Yay for Michael C. Hall! And Yay for Glee!!
A little boo for Toni Collette not winning though…

And Yay Star Trek Stunts! xD

Bridges, Monique and Waltz become the almost factual winners of the Oscar by now with these wins, which only leaves just a few days before nominations are announced xD

Biggest “I Saw that Coming” Moment was Sandra Bullock possibly winning a Best Actress at the Oscar. I mean, seriously. Really??? I love Sandra Bullock, she’s funny… but get real!

GGs on at the moment.
I had a couple of spazz moments…

Below the list of winners as they are announced

I’m not watching… I dunno where to watch, and I think they’re still going on. ITG did a quickie prediction, and said Avatar was gonna win a many few.

So I’m posting winners, as I find them.

Done! Yay! There’s was a little love for District 9… not AS much, but at least. Too much love for Avatar in my opinion… and no love for Red Cliff. Of course, I’m biased.

So, The Hurt Locker keeps on winning people. Best Picture and Best Director seem to be in the bag. Are we looking at the first female director to EVER win an Academy Award? That’s kinda nice… but actually kind of shocking it’s taken this long for a woman to be seriously considered.

And a few surprises too!

This isn’t a regular Award Season post.

But it’s a lot of postings… I should post one by one, but I am lazy… even if it increases posts number which have decreased a bit this month.

First with the Most Anticipated~~~

Yu gets a mention for Otouto which is about to open in a few days~~~

Then we go to some award nominations~~~

Dear Doctor gets Best Picture and Best Director for Miwa Nishikawa, as well as awards for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress (Kimiko Yo) at the Nikkan. Mother got some love for Foreign Film, and Masaki Okada earned the New Artist for A Pierrot (what? LOL)

The Hochi awards the film with a Best Director as well, a Best Supporting Actor for Eita, and a Supporting Actress for Kaoru Yachigusa. Michael Jackson got a Special Award, and some more love for Ken Watanabe, Clint Eastwood and Masaki Okada who also won Best New Artist for Honokaa Boy.

Seems like the Japan Academy Award will be fought over The Sun Doesn’t Set, and Dear Doctor~~~

And to close this post, a Top Best Asian Films of the Decade.
Will work on mine later~~~

Chicago LUVS Hurt Locker

December 22, 2009 — Leave a comment

Yup, we’re back with some more, and people are still loving Hurt Locker.

Awkward with James Cameron, because every is spazzing about Avatar, but his ex-wife is getting all the glory for something completely on the movie spectrum of Avatar. Funny thing that Golden Globe Director category will be…

Christoph Waltz pretty much has Supporting Actor in the bag for Inglourious Basterds, just like MoNique has Supporting Actress in the bag… even if she’s pissing on campaign. I think an actor’s job is also to promote their films, and not ask for crazy amounts of money to attend an event where they would be probably honoring your work. If it’s like that, you will probably win anyway… but filmmakers will not hire her for future work.

And double love for Carey. xD
