Archives For technology

This is actually a really cool concept.

You would obviously have to know about high resolution pictures and paper quality, but it’d be really awesome. I don’t know many people who have a printer specifically for printing photos, though.

Fashion and perfume CMs are so pretty, huh? [1][2]

This latest j’Adore Dior CM, which Charlize Theron has been promoting for a while doing those long walks almost naked but not showing anything have been… pretty normal. But this latest one which features Grace Kelly, Dietrich — both look like pretty close impersonators (I’m not even sure! LOL), but Marilyn looks pretty close to the actual Monroe and it looks like it might be footage. I’m not sure either, but it’s just pretty cool hahahaha.

Theron is the long-legged giantess and with those uber high high heels, I don’t even want to think of how tall she must be with those. I love it. LOL

Having said that, does anyone know the legality of using a dead icon’s image to use on a CM?

I love it.

The Toggle Remote Concept from Carbon is interesting — and gotta admit, pretty slick… though with the use of motion to game, I’m not seeing people ever returning to gaming controls.

I find it hilarious, however, if this ends up as a real remote to use at home, because I just pictured my mother struggling to turn the tv on.

My mom’s side of the family (including myself) is… really interesting to say the least. I think of all the families I know, we (as a whole) are the least tech savvy I have seen — and this coming from someone who should be tech savvy. I mean, it hasn’t been long since my uncle installed Wi-Fi at home (and I just installed my own! LOL).

So while I had been reluctant to get a mobile since my last got stolen years and years ago, it’s interesting to note that none of my uncles or aunts in my mom’s side of the family actually owns a mobile. One of my uncle doesn’t even own his own landline! I’m the hermit who has taken up all those family traits. Since I spent so much time working online, it seems pointless for me to have something where people can localize me the extra few hours I’m not in front of the computer.

Then… I finally got a Galaxy Tab. A cheap one and old generation at that, but I’m too cheap to actually pay regular price for something I’m not fully gonna use – 1. for fear of getting mugged, and 2. why would I get a Galaxy Tab with a mobile service in the first place? LOL So I have a non-service Tab, which works for me alright since I get to use Wi-Fi (that’s why I finally set it up) and get to test out mobile browsing with it.

Returning to the topic of the remote – I can picture my mother (or my aunt or uncles) having a hard time with the concept. I don’t think my mother gets how her remote control for the LED TV works out yet… and she doesn’t even use it outside the cable decoder

This $hit is amazing stuff.

But I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some Japanese cellphone that could do that same thing translating on the spot, but in Kanji. Now take that and tell me that’s not amazing? xD

Did you see it?

It was amazing – LOL, the closest thing to it since I doubt he will ever perform here. I think it’s becoming a fixture… watching Sigur Ros, Bjork, Jonsi on live streams. xD

Anyway, in case you missed it – they will be re-running the nearly-hour show pretty much all of today. Just go to the NPR website, and check if the live stream is ready for re-viewing.

A pretty cool setup for digital DJing, with a multi touch screen with a simple – but not so simple – interface for DJs. Now, I wonder how much would installing this in an actual club would cost~~~

Someone. Sponsor. This. Now. xD

Don’t adjust your screen…
maybe you should get a 3D TV?

Hmm… no, not really.

I have been using Rikaichan and Perapera-kun for about 2 years know, and it’s really improved my reading skills. Though, I am still lazy to remember how to actually read the kanji out-loud. LOL

But now I have been using Google Chrome a bit more than when it first came out, because it’s faster and it’s just there. However, since I browse so many Japanese and Chinese sites, I always end up browsing through them with Firefox because of my add-ons. LUCKILY! Google Chrome has add-ons now!

Rikaikun is like a lighter version of Rikaichan, works just like it.

and Zhong Wen, which is pretty much a light version of Perapera.
thank you, Chinese Hacks~

All I’m missing is a Koren one, which Perapera said they were working on. I wonder what happened to that business… haven’t seen updates since then.
