All this much touching should be forbidden! They don’t eve kiss, yet-yet is just so over-the-top-Pyramid-dancing-and-musical-non-graphic-love-making. I’m obsessed with the song, and specially the clip of the video, which I actually had caught on a Top SRK-Kajol songs video, that I immediately added to my list to watch because THOSE VISUALS.

That’s some sexy stuff without ever taking any piece of clothing or over-touching. Considering the lack of touchy-touch that I’ve seen in mainstream Bollywood, this feels like it almost should be censored for some audiences. Yet, deprive the audience of such a song feels like a sin.

I also love the lyrics to the song…

The sun dims into twilight, the moon beams simmer brightly,
and the sky seems to be melting.
I stand still as the earth spins around me,
my heart beats faster, as my breath goes deeper.
Is it the sigh of first love?
My love, is it the sign of first love?

Savour these beauteous moments, when everything changes-
Our dream blends into the realms of reality,
I wonder if our love travels through centuries,
and has bound us in its silken threads.

Let this season of love remain eternal,
Let us meet through birth after birth, like today.

The colors of our souls have melted into one,
I’m losing myself to your love.
Beloved, it’s the waves of your love that drown me,
before transporting me to the shore.

It’s the thirst of the ocean, it’s the dream of the night,
the hearts of the flames have been set afire

Russian be gone! xD I’ve spent the last week watching Bollywood films!

First official Indian films with musicals, excluding A Wednesday (which didn’t have musical numbers, but does star Anupam Kher), Slumdog Millionair (which isn’t officially Indian), and some random Punjab film that I caught once when I was living in Vancouver and randomly watched the Punjabi channel. LOL

First thoughts? I’m loving it. It cost me a bit to get accustomed to the 3hr running time of most films, but I think I don’t care… that much any longer. Fluff musical numbers are still fluffs, and that’s what irks me the most… but at least they’re good for exercising.

It’s been my first week and I’ve already seen a couple of few Shahrukh Khan films, and I’ve already learned Kajol and Rani Mukerji’s names. Already reviewed Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and this is my second time watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I think I took to the song because it’s one of the few that I can actually pronounce. LOL

I love the complicated melodrama they get into. I can totally get why people in Peru are into Bollywood films and numbers.

Oh man, American pop music must really be in a dire situation if people are praising Britney’s latest song, Ooh La La — for The Smurfs 2 OST, I swear this is the last time I mention that movie — as “vintage Britney” and describing it as “folksy pop-tart” with “whimsical vocals,” because yeah. I’ll defer y’all to SunnyHill. [1][2][3][4] You’re welcome.

Anyway, I’ll roll my eyes to the song and the music video. I just wanted to talk about Britney. I think this is the first time, since the early 2000s, that I’ve seen Britney happy. And I’m happy she looks happier. I think she enjoys spending time with her kids. I wish she could be happier through most of her week.

What I’m not entirely sure is if she should be adding her kids into the music video — she should know she’s exposing them more than what paparazzi shots would be. Adding them into her music video would make them fair game. I hope she’s not turning into her own mother.

Cloud Atlas was one of my highlight movies of 2012 [1] given that’s been a meh year — don’t fight me, less than 10% of the films I watched this past 2012 were rated higher than 8 on IMDb. So I’ve been waiting for its release on Bluray because I haven’t heard of theater releases in my country. The rumor I had heard was that it was going to get a release by February 5th, which of course it’s my birthday x)

To top it all, it appears Cloud Atlas its making its push in Mainland China with my favorite girl, BiBi doing a song. And another song featuring a bunch of artists [1].

On first listen the song, titled Under the Stars (星空之下), is so-so. But on further replays, I really like the verses, more so than the chorus. Of course I think pushing Cloud Atlas with a pop song seems completely misplaced considering how awesome the soundtrack to the movie is, but I’m game. I hope it’s a hit in China so it can recoup its missing budget, as it deserves more positive vibes than it has gotten.

It’s that time of the year again.

You know where to go.

You know Jackie Chan’s upcoming movie, Chinese Zodiac (十二生肖) [Trailer], which has so much numerology~~~ twelve signs, opening on December 12 of 2012. And you know Jackie Chan is best-buds with Leehom [1] … so much so that Jackie smooches Leehom for fun, so Leehom is apparently doing the main song for the movie because this song is titled like the movie.

It’s so chinked-out. Reminiscent of his The 18 Martial Arts album, which I have already gotten accustomed to. I kinda love the song, not a solid 4/5, but possibly close to it at first few listens.

While watching the latest version of Sparkle — besides checking out Carmen Ejogo (*legasp* English??) and fist-pumping for Tika Sumpter — the most emotional scene in the whole movie, which had me side-drying the “single” tear that kept on rolling down my left cheek, was when Whitney performed that song. And I didn’t even cry when her death was announced (more liked shocked). It’s just one of those powerful spiritual moments.

Hmph! Have you seen this video of the international poster for Park Chan-wook’s English-debut, Stoker? I mean, it’s not enough that it’s Park Chan-wook, but it’s also got Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska, with a bunch of other good people. There’s this poster~~~

With the trailer edited with the making of the poster, weaving in and giving links to bits and pieces of the story, all layered on top with Emily Wells’ Becomes the Color. Any ideas on who designed/illustrated this?

Why do we love musicals??

Why do I love it so much?
What kind of magic is this?
How come I can’t help adore it?
It’s just another musical

I don’t think it’s a secret that I’ve watched Sunny a lot of times since I first saw it. However, besides catching me singing to Boney M’s Sunny [1] — which both my parents are also doing just because they caught it on the background and got stuck with the song.

Actually, I’m lying – my dad has seen Sunny three times already. He loves it.

Anyway, besides singing that… and Tuck & Patti’s Time After Time and all the other songs, I’ve gotten a knack for singing NaMi’s Round and Round (빙글 빙글) just because of that infectious “bingeul bingeul” in the song. LOL

Even better! There’s a wonderful old-school vs. Sunny version mash-up!
