omote3D photobooth 6

3D printing is expensive — but cool — and apparently Japan is setting itself to test 3D printing photo booths so you can all make tiny models of yourselves!

Hmph! Have you seen this video of the international poster for Park Chan-wook’s English-debut, Stoker? I mean, it’s not enough that it’s Park Chan-wook, but it’s also got Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska, with a bunch of other good people. There’s this poster~~~

With the trailer edited with the making of the poster, weaving in and giving links to bits and pieces of the story, all layered on top with Emily Wells’ Becomes the Color. Any ideas on who designed/illustrated this?

I think we missed the look at Peruvian Posters of 2011… but, oh, well~~~

Here’s this year’s look!
Part I – but there’s no post helped by Google Translate. xD
Part II – Google Translate

Sorry, no translation this year.

You can check previous posts on Peruvian Movie Posters here:

I’m not sure if these are print — actually, they seem to be Nike wallpapers, but can’t find other sizes — they’ve been making their rounds, and they’re awesome. :) Thanks to Cfensi for the heads up as well as some of the translations~

Following the Find your Greatness campaign Nike has been doing, the Chinese branch of Nike released these wonderful ads, with the slogan of 活出伟大 (Huo Chu Wei Da) and some awesome copy-writing.

Note: The translation of the copy is courtesy of Cfensi. xD

“There’s no absolute fairness, but there is absolute Greatness.” – About Chen Yibing’s silver-medal performance.

Li Yuchun, you’re doing a world tour? I suspect you’re not including me… but, oh well. Your promo poster is flawless. I mean, nothing out of the design-ordinary, but you look like pure gloss.

You know when BiBi had her make-over [1], I was flabbergasted? I don’t think it ever happened between you and me. I’ve been more interested in your film career than music, to be honest. You weren’t bad in Bodyguards and Assassins, and you definitely had your scenes in The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. xD

Welcome to another random edition of Wannabe Distributor!

Today’s pick of film is the Taiwan/China co-production of LOVE (愛LOVE).

I ran into these, and thought “wow, these are particularly quirky classy for Playboy.” xD Has the brand upped its marketing? Because I’ve ran into a couple of other of their commercial, ads, and covers, and well… they’ve changed.

The concepts were done by Brazilian company Neogama BBH.

The Rurouni Kenshin poster is out.

I don’t know many Yu Aoi fans who are excited for it, but I know Rurouni Kenshin fans are pumped. I know a few.

Yu Aoi has bangs… I don’t think I’ve seen Yu-chan with bangs since her early acting days. She looks mad weird, and the photoshop makes it look like she’s carrying that kid. No? Maybe it’s just me? xD

Last Jdrama season, I gave W no Higeki a watch. I don’t think I mentioned it on my review, but Emi Takei gave me a strong Yu Aoi vibe in that show. Since then, Takei has popped up in a LOT of projects I’ve been reading about. So much, I only remember saying “ohhhh, she’s in it too?” xD

I think she’s lacking a little bit of the Yu-chan charisma, but she’s okay.

I’ve been re-kindling myself with fandom, so… I guess you’ll see when I post about it when it gets here.

I decided to create another feature in here~ The Wannabe Distributor feature!!! Combining my love for film and design, I’m gonna pick films as if I could afford the rights to distribute them, and imagining I really am going to be showing these films at a theater near me, I’m going to pick suitable titles and “create” a campaign to promote it. LOL

My first pick! China’s little movie that could, Love Is Not Blind (失恋33天).
