Late post! Internet issues! But it gave me the time to watch this awesome kick-ass animated film that apparently was released early in the year, but I have heard nothing about it. So Amy do, as Amy does.

I am pushing for a nomination, ha! Here’s a brief write-up:
I just saw the best animated film I’ve seen all year. A stop-motion funny, yet compelling serious drama about the unlikely friendship between one cute, albeit kinda weird, 8-year-old girl in Australia and some 40-something-year-old Jewish/Atheist man living in New York.
You should all try to check it out, even if it’s online because if it weren’t for the internet, I wouldn’t have EVER heard about it.
Now I’m pushing for a nomination… AT LEAST a nomination. We all know Pixar’s UP is a lock on it, and will probably win (boooooring), so I’m pushing for Mary and Max this season.
If it gets a nod (very unlikely, since there’s no marketing or buzz), I will die of happiness~~~ xD
Check out my FyC graphics here and here.

Okay, last time Marcia totally blew up in my face – but that’s hardly my fault, right? But nothing to lose on supporting Toni Collette now…

No one could play 4 characters like Toni does. xD From crazy obnoxious T, to proper but scary Stepford wife Alice, to weeny-less Vietnam vet Buck – LOL, I love Buck. Oh, and don’t forget ‘it’. Toni can play “it” too.
It’s early for award season, yada yada yada~~ I know, but these turned out pretty nice, no? Free to post out and about if you are a fan of the show, or Toni, and feel she should be Best Actress next. Here’s the complete set~~ INCLUDING, one more of Tara and the alters group, one of T, one of Alice, and one Buck. Oh, how I wish there was a picture of Gimme or whatever ‘its’ name is spelled.

… Now if only they’d begin getting rid off region restrictions, I’d die of happiness~~~
According to this article at Derby LA Times;
Showtime will continue with their innovating Emmy campaign by allowing Emmy voters to watch episodes of Emmy-contenders online through a portal exclusively for them. They get like a Showtime voting kit in the mail, where they get a code which they can use to access.
This is after they got 21 nods last time when they were doing a similar campaign. With the code, they apparently get some episodes from shows… normally 3. They will be getting the first three episodes of United States of Tara, the first two episodes and season finale of Weeds Season 4, first two episodes of The Tudors Season 3, episodes 5 and 10 of Dexter Season 3 (the one with Miguel finally getting Dexter’s trust, and the one in which that cycle gets completed LOL), and the first episode and finale of The L Word Season 6 (and final season) – which by the way makes kind of sense. In my opinion those episodes where shot the best, and I said that you could watch those two and wouldn’t be missing anything~~~ LOL
The Launch
The Progress
The next idea should be ‘no region’, right? xD

Way before (film) award season began, I came up with a For Your Consideration campaign for Marion Cotillard, who ended up winning! *woot woot* – the funny thing about the whole thing was that the graphics I made only listed three awards, the Academy Award, the BAFTA and the Golden Globe. Yes, she didn’t actually get the Golden Globe for drama, but she got the one in the Comedy/Musical, to the disbelief of some Ellen Page fans (I’m an Ellen Page fan, but… come on, get real. lol’) – Anyway, I had totally forgotten about the SAG and SHE LOST THAT ONE! Now I’m better prepared.

Oh, yeah. Amy first saw La Môme, aka La Vie en Rose, back in her trip to Sweden with dear Julyssa. Movie was in French, with Swedish subtitles… Amy speaks neither. LOL’ – so you can imagine. Anyway, that was a sweet little anecdote with the film, but I just got my DVD today, and re-watched it with proper subtitling that I could understood. ^^ xD
Ever since I saw Cotillard in this role, I’ve felt that she’s got Academy Award written all over her face… I mean, come on! She became Piaf!! She, at least! deserves a nomination for Best Actress. Coming award season, she will need a strong campaign so people don’t push her performance to the back of their heads coming the time of nominations… so Amy decides to campaign for her.
The film came out in the first half of the year, and just recently became available on DVD… usually, studios will release heavy awarded films during November and December to stay fresh in the mind of the ones nominating… this is not the case. Most importantly, the film is in French… it’s a powerful performance yes, but apparently languages are a pretty quite no-no for Academy Awards, lol.
I also found this blog with how the race to the Oscar is going… good read. This person mentions Cotillard, and also another fave of mine, Julie Christie for Away from Her.
But to stay on topic, Amy is campaigning for Marion Cotillard. I first saw her, briefly, on the Tim Burton film Big Fish back in early 2000s – Then, I got the amazing chance to see Jeux d’Enfants (aka. Love Me If You Dare) at the cinemas in Vancouver… which is now one of my favorite films, and then she was on The Good Year, starring Russel Crowe. Marion Cotillard does great in this film, she becomes Piaf and gives her audience a powerful wonderful performance.

You can find, use, and help campaigning by posting and using this banners I made. For Your Consideration: Marion Cotillard for Best Actress.
