I have finally fallen in love with the song. It took a while~ Now, that Hitori janai kara/watashi ga kimi o mamoru kara kills me. The song is just so… uplifting. I think it might go great together with Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful. Once you hear it, you have to stand up and sing it out loud.

Well, the Korea Herald article is specifically talking about Korean prime time television, but we all know Asia is big on the gay… being with Fan Service on promos, or by actually putting these pretty people on screen.
Min’s own film, which featured a gay pastry chef, serves as a case in point. According to Min, “Antique” drew an audience that ended up being around 86 percent female.
This might explain why the vast majority of homosexual or potentially gay characters are played by attractive actors like Zo In-sung (who starred in “A Frozen Flower”) or “Coffee Prince” heartthrob Kim Jae-wook (who starred in “Antique”).
Oh, and this topic is so totally Julz, who’s disappeared. I know she’s got a lot to comment about this topic. As for me, well… if everyone [at least in America or the UK] seem to exploit girl-on-girl — the last one to do so was Christina Aguilera on her NSFW video Not Myself Tonight, courtesy of Tudou because no one else would let me stream officially… SO SUCK IT, Aguilera’s record label — I’m all for boy-on-boy. I say it, if you’re going to be exploitative, then be exploitative with all.
And that thing about it being a trend? Well, Yaoi and Yuri have been around for what feels like forever. It doesn’t matter if it’s a trend or not, as long as it’s finally normalized.
Funny thing, I don’t know if it is because most my friends follow male groups, but I’ve never seen girl-on-girl kissing in Asia… seen a lot of boy-on-boy from everywhere there though. Having that, it was so weird to have Adam Lambert dude being criticized so badly on this side of the world.
I’ve seen a lot of girl-on-girl romantic tales of friendship that never went there… maybe because that’s what girls dream about a lot. Wonder why girls read so much Yuri and Yaoi xD
Pitchfork has a really interesting article on how Pop music has changed these past 10 years, with a surprising take on the what was BackStreet Boys, Britney Spears, TLC, Christina Aguilera and Hanson. You know, since most people try to deny they listen to them at some point in their lives.
Here’s one measure of how well they succeeded. Breaking through behind the Backstreet Boys on 1999’s pop roster were a crew of former Mouseketeers: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and ‘N Sync’s Justin Timberlake. Even the commentators who loved their records didn’t give them a hope of longer-term success. But 10 years on, Spears is midway through the year’s highest-grossing tour, Aguilera is lining up M.I.A. and Santigold to work with, and Timberlake can pick his hip-hop collaborators as he wishes. (Not to mention snaring a Pitchfork Single of the Year.) It’s fair to say the class of ’99 exceeded every expectation.
My only issue is the focus on the American market. Sure, BackStreet Boys, Britney, Aguilera and everyone were popular worldwide, across cultures. Since the market’s shift to online music, it hasn’t been really the case… so the 2nd half of the article feels dull, just like the ‘worldwide pop music’ market. How about an exciting comment about Pop music in Asia? I keep saying Asia is actually saving “pop acts” alone by taking it to different levels.

From its 200 albums, we only concur on five choices. They also repeat artists… 2, maybe 3 albums per artists, while I chose 100 albums by 100 artists including soundtracks. Oh yeah, I also have albums in Chinese and Japanese and Korean, and French. They don’t.
I’m kinda mad at their lack of variety.
It’s as if music in English is the only one that matters…

Who’s Jane Zhang?
She’s 2nd runner-up to the Super Girl contest, back when Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) won, and Bibi (Zhou Bichang) placed 2nd. Meaning… Jane was just behind Bibi.
I don’t wanna start anyone’s fire. Don’t want to attack the fans, but some of Jane’s fans online had been very vocal on Chris Lee even calling her “man-woman” – I can’t take that. While Li Yuchun fans are happy-go-lucky… after all, they did win. LOL’ – Some of Jane’s fans can’t keep their comments down.
Yes, I get it. Chris Lee is not the best vocalist. I know that.
But she doesn’t suck, you know who sucks at singing? I do. LOL
First time I heard Jane Zhang was on the Lee Hom Wang album, and I thought her voice was very generic Chinese pop idol. My friend happened to ask if I had heard of her, which led me to find out she’s sung in different languages. I admit, it got me interested… she’s sung Contigo en la Distancia!

Regardless of understanding her Spanish… tell me you did not just see Christina Aguilera’s gestures there? An interesting comment about her accent being and English Spanish accent, instead of a Chinese Spanish accent – because she obviously took the song from Aguilera, and not let’s say… Luis Miguel, or Caetano Veloso.
