New Buffy Movie?

May 26, 2009 — Leave a comment

Say what?!

with not the original cast, or Joss Whedon??? WHAT?

shoot me now.

I know vamps are all the craze now *coughtwi-hardscough* – right~~~ but, no – as much as I lurvvvvvv Buffy, I’d rather not see, actually… not see THIS MADE unless Whedon gets involved.

I know there’s little to no chance of Sarah Michelle Gellar to join, I don’t have an issue with a new slayer… or many (if you read the comic ;)) BUT Joss and all the original writers need to be involved with this, or is NOT Buffy.

Bummer~ Couldn’t find some tracks from the playlist I made in my iPod~~ 5 in fact, ARGH! And Deezer won’t even let me play some of the songs that I did find… They should let you add your own mp3 from a URL, right? Like MixWit used to??

Screw you Deezer, buahaha~

Here’s my YouTube Playlist~

February 14, 2009 — Leave a comment

It’s V-day, so my non-V-day gift to all of you it’s more YAM. Yup, 2nd issue is done.

YAM - Issue 2

Featuring Coraline, which opened this past Thursday here in Lima (only dubbed). We are also taking on Best Picture Nominees, and our picks that shoulda been BP. We are also talking about Duncan Sheik, Melinda Doolittle, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Lee-Hom Wang, Franz Ferdinand… and many other reviews!

Now, if you’re ready~~~ head over here to get it.

Been a long time since the last ‘why the 90s ruled’ [click to get the other posts] – almost a whole year, in fact. The other day, actually whenever I ended up talking about TV and growing up, I ended up talking about the different in thematics on shows for teenagers. We always end up asking if TV’s changed because teens have changed, or if teens have changed because TV has. Which is really the cause, and which the consequence?

The 60th edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday September 21st at 8/7c – and hopefully will be broadcast in Latin America by either TNT (latin america) or Sony Entertainment Television… but if you’re in America, just head over to ABC for it.

Anyway, that’s a little less than a month away… in the meantime, you can head over to the ABC Emmy website (click here) – where you can vote for two of your favorite memorable TV moments in the Comedy and Drama categories~~ (that means one moment for each category, people). In there, check the menu… you will notice the “memorable moments” section where you can read “comedy voting” and “drama voting” ~~~ knock yourself out with it. I am hoping you can vote for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer moment in the Drama category, from the episode The Gift… which could’ve made a GREAT ending, if the series had ended there~~

Loads of funny moments in the Comedy category too… like the Ellen moment when she comes out (and Laura Dern hugs her), and the I Love Lucy bit one… which had me laughing. Lucy always gets me laughing like a maniac. LOL

Buffy - Chose One CollectionI always thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a popular show, but apparently is not very cool to say you like Buffy. But I disagree. I respect people who have watched the show and don’t particularly like it, but the most uncool of the uncool people are the ones who think are TOO COOL to watch or like a show like Buffy.

I’m one of those people who grew up watching Buffy… something that my writing teacher thought was nifty. The fact is that I was like 11 when I remember watching an episode of Buffy… and I have been a fan ever since. Am now 22, so have been a Buffy (and Whedon fan) for half my life. Le GASP!

I’ve seen the episodes so many times, that even my mom (who despises Fantasy and Sci-Fi) has seen repeat episodes of Buffy. Once, while watching a re-run on Canal Fox, my mom told me “Haven’t you watched this episode before? I know I have seen it at least 3 times… so by now you must know all the lines.”

The fact is that growing up watching Buffy shaped who I am today (I am most certainly sure about that). Being an impressionable 11-year-old with a knack for martial arts (am a fan of Bruce Lee), I thought Buffy kicked major ASS.

So it was so easy for me to watch Buffy… with a combination of ass-kicking, supernatural, and teenager-ness that gave a great transition of viewing habits between my pre-teen and teen years. It does help a lot as a young adult to know that Buffy was metaphorical (but you don’t really know what a metaphor means when you’re 12… do you?). So for those of you who don’t know… What the EFF is Buffy about?

EFF! I say~~~

I was REALLY looking forward to buying the Buffy Tarot Cards Deck! I even created an account with TFAW.com just to find out they didn’t ship to Peru, so my friend was gonna buy it for me.

Sucky! I don’t even read tarot, lol… but the deck was a must-have because it was so awfully pretty!! [see, because me buy awfully pretty stuff, LOL] – Anyway, my friend was ordering for me, so I thought it was a sure thing~~~ until I check up on the link just to find a notice!

THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Official word from Dark Horse:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, Dark Horse will not be producing the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” Tarot Deck. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but no existing orders will be filled. We appreciate your support of this program, and again apologize to those who placed advance orders and to fans alike.”

When did that show up? I don’t know. But I demand a proper explanation!! LOL’

Say~~~ what if DH releases the artwork on high quality printable digital files!?? It’ll be good to have, and it will be such a waste of prettyness if it’s just discarded~~~ And I’m sure many will still buy the deck, if they EVER decide to publish a print version. I know I would~~ My printing abilities wouldn’t compare to the quality printing they would offer…. most likely. Non?

Buffy Reunites!

March 23, 2008 — Leave a comment

The Paley Television Festival paid tribute to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because Buffy is cool, okay? Anyway, they managed to reunite most of the cast (except for Willow, Faith, Giles and Angel… aka. Alisson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku, Anthony Stewart Head and David Boreanaz).

I was trying to find different photos of the event, but all were basically the same… SMG with Green, low-res group photos, etc. However, it was nice to hear about Emma Caulfield out and about, since we don’t get to hear much from her projects. I have a few links talking about the event:

LOL. Just found the following article~

And Cherie (Rosanna Arquette) and Shane (Katherine Moennig) made it to the Top 10, ha!

If you tend to watch a lot of TV and movies, and are good with faces and names, you begin noticing familiar faces throughout the years. It is then, by chance, that you suddenly discover that you have in fact been finding bright new talents… or hidden talents. You know their faces, you know where you’ve seen them, but you can’t quite get their names until you research, and never will it happen again.

I’ve been an avid procrastinator for the past 12 years of my life, ha! I’ve watched a lot of TV and movies (more in recent years), and I’ve found myself saying “Well, he/she looks awfully familiar. Haven’t I seen him/her somewhere before?” Yes, yes I have. And that gives me a fuzzy feeling… a fuzzy special something that makes me think I’ve got this tiny little treasure, and I saw it… sort of first.
