TOKYO! in Hawaii~~

Written by Amy on Friday, September 19th, 2008 ( Start discussion ) | Share/Save

TOKYO! the 3-part-collaborative film by Joon-ho Bong, Leos Carax and Michel Gondry, has been (or will be) making rounds in theaters in Japan - I think. - And I won’t be able to watch this in a long~~~ LONG time, I’m pretty sure… but Hawaiian residents will be able to watch it at the Hawaii International Film Festival. [WTF? Louis Vuitton??] xD

TOKYO! will be showing on:
Saturday, Oct. 18th 2008 (obviously!) at 8 p.m. at Regal Dole Cannery.
Sunday, Oct. 19th 2008 at 4.30 p.m. at Regal Dole Cannery.

Get tickets, and check! Coz schedules could’ve changed during the time of this post and the day of showing~~

If you are a Yu Aoi fan, and live in Hawaii… or don’t mind spending the airfare to Hawaii, LOL - Go for it! Yu Aoi is featured in the Joon-ho Bong (The Host) directed/written segment title Shaking Tokyo, about a man who stays in his apartment very much like a hermit, trying to isolate himself from society, until he meets a pizza delivery girl (Yu) and there’s an earthquake… apparently.

TOKYO! - Shaking Tokyo - Yu Aoi

Yu Aoi faints on Shaking Tokyo, part of TOKYO!

Also making the rounds at the festival will be Kung Fu Kun (aka, Kung Fu Kid), which in itself isn’t much of a film I would watch… it is kinda funny at the beginning. However, it’s worth noting that there’s a small cameo with Juri Ueno! [click for some funny screencaps] ~ so if you’re a fan of Juri Ueno, you can get tickets for it for the festival!

Mark Keali’i Ho’omalu & Kamehameha Schools Childrens!

Written by Amy on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 ( One response ) | Share/Save

Just been having too much fun singing these Hawaiian lyrics, so I’d better just post the lyrics here. LOL’ Has any of you tried singing in Hawaiian? Pronunciation is pretty much like in Japanese when you read Romaji, I think… You know like “Mahalo”, which is for thanking would be pronounced MAH-HA-LO, HA as in Japanese “Hajimemashite” and MAH as in “Matsuri”… I guess it’s way easier for Spanish speakers because our vowels A-E-I-O-U sound exactly the same, unlike English.

The only difference I’ve noticed is “W” which is pronounced like “V”, I think… oh, and all those apostrophes hahaha. Anyway, I leave you with the lyrics for He Mele No Lilo and Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.

Ok, it’s been like a year since I last updated my music player, so I decided to do it now, since I’m traveling next week and won’t get a chance to do it later. The old player had old hits like “Ready to Make Nice” by the Dixie Chicks, “I Bet that You Look Good on the Dance Floor” by Arctic Monkeys, songs by OK Go, Norwegian hit Marit Larsen… now, this is the list:

  1. E Ha’i Ana Wau by Green Light Go (lyrics)
  2. Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
  3. Filter Factory by Dee
  4. Funky Dancers by Antigone
  5. Habanera by East Village Opera Company
  6. Johnny Negro by Quad Riot (lyrics)
  7. Little of your Time by Maroon 5
  8. My Alcoholic Friends by The Dresden Dolls
  9. Outta my Way by Damone
  10. Sur la Colline de Delos by Kazumi and Maia
  11. Takarajima by Kobukuro (lyrics)
  12. When I Get Where I’m Going by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton

So head back up to the Music Player link and open it up! Leave a comment, and don’t steal. If you enjoy the music, support the artist.
