Archives For Commercials

Oh, man~ Liu Huan is gone from The Voice of China, and I thought he was the one elevating the show to a more professional level. Have no idea why he’s not there, but I hope he’s back later on.

And my prediction of Wang Feng being on the show [1] kinda became a reality, except not replacing who I thought he should be replacing. LOL

Happy to see A-Mei, though I would prefer her releasing new music instead.

I have nothing to say about Harlem Yu xD We are just not compatible. LOL

I refuse to call this a music video, since it’s actually been commissioned by Adobe to promote their upcoming cloud system. But… it’s beautiful. All done by Spain-based Dvein. I’m uncertain about the credit to The Vein.

There’s also a Making Of available if you’re interested.

I’ve been on a Chulpan Khamatova binge for a while, but since Russian is such a foreign language to me, it seems hard to come by with simple googling since Google Translate doesn’t do so well with the language either. This time, though, I was browsing Khamatova.ru and was looking at the Filmography page and noticed that she had a fairly recent short film.

Titled From Tokyo (Из Токио), this short film also serves as a commercial for Chivas Regal. Directed by Aleksei German Jr., the short follows a Russian businessman on a return flight from Tokyo to Moscow (I suppose), where he’s unable to sleep. When approached by the flight attendant, they begin talking about his reasons to be in Tokyo right after the Tohoku Earthquake and the Tsunami, where he’s rescued a survivor.

Though I really liked the short by the end, even if that might be my Khamatova bias showing~ there were some things that irked me for no reason. One- the dude is a rescuer flying on Business. Two- he refers to Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City as “a village” because we did not see the Tsunami literally crushing miles and miles of road, bridges, highways, while sweeping tons of cars and other city-related debris.

Having said that~ Yes! Khamatova! I finally learned how to pronounce her name correctly. I was doing it SO wrong. LOL I’m a little embarrassed.

One of the most tiring things on technology blogs is to read comments from people. It’s been specially tiring when Apple fans start blasting Samsung/Android posts, and viceversa. Though I must admit The Next Big Thing Commercial [1] was pretty funny. However, there was always something in common for the both of them, they could piss on Nokia.

Well, Nokia won’t stand for it no longer!

And their commercial speaks the truth.

I want this (Dutch???) toilet paper!

The best toilet paper commercials we ever got in Peru were of Suave, featuring Luis Miguel’s hit song, Suave [MV] — that’s the only one that ever stuck in my subconscious anyway. That one, for the song, and there was another one of a little girl who wanted to go to the washroom at a mall or something, and she was only with her father. Obviously, he couldn’t go it to the ladies room, so she went in with her father staying by the door giving directions, where he spurts “ahora limpiate tu potito.” (now clean your tushy).

We aren’t any remotely close to having this kind of toilet paper commercial.

For years now, I stopped my mandatory affair with Internet Explorer — since I went in to work with web, in fact. It’s also been years since I last used Firefox because it had been too chunky, so Chrome had been my choice of browser. I don’t know if I could go back, EVER. Maybe. If the signs were right. Still, my inability to care for IE doesn’t hamper how nostalgic this commercial was.

And mother of gawd~ Tamagotchi.

And I effing worked Logo Writer. xD

The commercials for Nintendo featuring Penelope Cruz and her sister work great. They still make me laugh. This one is still my favorite though;

Though, the other one with Mario Bros still has its charm. It’s also great to see that both versions in Spanish or English are difficult to pin-point which one was the original language. It doesn’t look like it’s been dubbed… or maybe it was shot twice, but it’s hard to tell if both version are slightly different.

So… back in April, Toyota released a series of animated short (commercials) called PES: Peace Eco Smile, which followed an alien who fell in love with an earthling, and at the same time showing you the wonderful things about their cars. The animation was in charge of Studio 4C and it looked pretty darn awesome [watch all the clips here].

Turns out Mercedes Benz also has a animated short commercial called Next A-Class, which follows a girl who is after the perfect bowl of ramen and gets two other guys to get on the mission…

I don’t really follow baseball, but that time I got to watch the World Series by chance, I ended up being an Ichiro fan, so I love this commercial. xD And I love that Yu-chan’s faster than him when snatching meat.

Apparently they did a series, but you never know with these commercials any longer. They go PUFF all the time, even those that seem legit uploads.

Look at this cheese commercial shot for CNIEL -Centre National Interprofessionnel de l’Economie Laitière by the EURO RSCG Agency. It’s like a cute combination of The Host and… you know, Cheese. In Paris. xD
