Archives For August 2009

Woah, this is pretty nice xD
it’s like a YouTube music console~~~

Bb 2.0 Collaborative Music

In Bb 2.0 is a collaborative music and spoken word project conceived by Darren Solomon from Science for Girls, and developed with contributions from users.

The videos can be played simultaneously — the soundtracks will work together, and the mix can be adjusted with the individual volume sliders.

Not really a music video… but will tag it as suck~ Check it out here.

LOL

I know… just to close the month with something not charged.

I woke up this morning with a post by Electro^Plankton~

I don’t care what anybody says. I love them even without Kevin. Secretly I’m holding out for a full reunion with all 5 members, at least for a live performance.

that made me think it sounded like me. But read the post because it’s funny.

Anyway, the guys are releasing a brand new album (This is Us) this coming October (6th, in case you wonder) and apparently they’ll be going back to their old sound of R&B(ish) sounding Pop tunes that was so popular before, which to tell you the truth I’m not that thrill (not overly anyway) because I did enjoy their new sound, guitar driven rock-ish sounding pop ballads… but I did enjoy tracks like “Treat me Right” (produced by Nsync’s JC), so we’ll see…

In any case… BSB is promoting the album with the single Straight Through my Heart with a er… new video, which isn’t anything out of this world, but it has nice colors xD – but it does have cheesy vampire eyes and stuff~~~, and then there’s RollingStones who has a new interview up in their website.

Call them pop’s longest-running, most persistent group. Call them men, not boys. Just don’t call it a comeback.

For some reason it seems like the person who wrote the article was told to do an article on them, and she didn’t want to. It happens… after all Rolling Stones works with record companies to secure promotion and stuff.

I just want to hear what Max Martin can produce now… xD
If You Seek Amy wasn’t a let down xD and I’m pretty sure Bad Influence had his credits also.

where did this come from?
and when did it happen?

About “A day in the life of…”
In the limited edition series A day in the life of… photographers are portraying a day in their lives, fiction as non-fiction. The fourth publication in this monthly series is completed by Stockholm based artist Jenny Källman where she assembled pictures of young peoples everyday lives. She blends documentary shots of the social games of the street with more or less pre-arranged scenes. – from Libraryman Co., Ltd.

A Day in the Life of... Yu Aoi

Found out about it here. You can get the book here. Roughly $15-ish USD.
Maybe Julyssa can scan bookstores in Sweden for it…

Yu just updated her site with a whole magazine batch, which seems the only thing she updates now… which is kinda boring. BUT… they also announce she’ll be on Vogue Japan on December (dunno if on the cover, or just a feature article…) – which leads me to post a great scan of her cover on Vogue Taiwan from last Oct.

There weren’t good scans that I’m aware of, so I was surprised to find these.

While we wait for Juri’s WOWOW project (please, please! Someone sub this!!! And please, please WOWOW release this with subs), the programming  (non-coding) people have decided to do a Juri Marathon with 6 films! (Sounds like Comfy Monki to me xD) starting on September 7th (That’s a Monday, just so you know~)

  • Sept. 7th – Jozze to Tora to Sakana-tachi (Josee, the Tiger and the Fish)
with Satoshi Tsumabuki and Chizuru Ikewaki
  • Sept. 8th – Kame wa Igai to Hayaku Oyogu (Turtles Swim Faster than Expected)
    with Yu Aoi (!!! xD)

  • Sept. 10th – Warau Mikaeru (Arch Angels)
  • Sept. 11th – GuGu Datte Neko de Aru (Gu Gu the Cat)

Why they chose Josee instead of Rainbow Song makes me wonder… after all she was barely in Josee xD – Anyway, if you get WOWOW, don’t miss the chance to watch these six Juri films!

Kame wa igai to hayaku oyogu

My friend Kyle gave me the heads up on this

It’s Mysterious Ways!

August 27, 2009 — 1 Comment

The year, 2000… I think.

Mysterious Ways - Season 1 - Title

Anyway, for any fans of the shows, I just found the torrent for Mysterious Ways, that Canadian (probably shot on Vancouver) show with Adrian Pasdar (who is now married to Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks) with Rae Dawn Chong (who my mother refuses to believe is Chinese, LOL) and Alisen Down (playing the geeky and awkward Miranda) – by the by, I’m pretty sure I was a Declan/Miranda kinda shipper… ~ I’m telling you, it’s all about the geek.

Also, don’t mind the title sequence. It’s a really REALLY bad title sequence, super 90’s and cheese~ xD

Anyway, I’m posting the links to the torrents because there are no DVDs… I doubt there will be any releases since it’s such a tiny show… and Canadian. Canadian programming sucks when it comes to releasing on DVD.

It’s a little over 15Gb for both seasons, but it’s worth it if you want the show. Remember, the show getting a DVD release it’s a long shot. Better download while you can. And if the torrent goes dead (and there are still no DVD releases), you can leave a message to request re-seed.

Cycling!

August 26, 2009 — 3 Comments

I have been with the urge to ride a bike for a while now, I just don’t because Lima sucks. It’s stressful, will someone run you over? Will someone try to mug you? The black smoke coming out of the cars and public transport. The noise…

Drivers are irresponsible, and people on the street suck too. It’s just the way it is.

But one can dream. xD

I recently saw an article on a National Geographic magazine, with this photo~

Cycling in Portland Oregon - National Geographic

Saying Portland, Oregon is the best city in America to ride bikes. It has over 250Km. of biking paths. And there’s also the Bike Commuter Act passed about a year ago that lets companies give $20USD extra to their people for bike expenses. Add to that, people actually stop their cars for them…

sighs.

I’ve had a dream that had to do with it. xD
I want to open a design studio (I’ve seen a place, super cool LOL) and I had imagined in my mind that we would give our clients x% off if they come to our offices riding a bike. I would go every day with my bike in my sweet office loft.

But I need better environment design. I need signals, and I need someone that will assure me that I will be save while on my bike. Can’t have that with over 400 road accidents in the year. Not until we start being civilized.
