Slowly, I have been noticing that Flixster is one of my favorite and most used, if not THE most used application I’ve got going on my Facebook profile. It’s not that I love their website, but I like how handy it is on Facebook (I’m still an IMDb user at heart xD) Continue Reading…

8.8.8 – Will you be watching? At 8:08pm~~ Be sure to watch, coz word has it that it will be spectacular. Also, word has it Jay Chou will be performing… will his vocal ability match Celine DionJay Chou‘s????

Apparently, Faye Wong was asked to do the Opening Song (a la Bjork, NE?) – Anyway, she refused… so they held a contest of sort… all very confusing to me. In the end, Jay Chou is singing~~~ obviously. Will you be watching him making faces… looking all cool and mumbling? You know, like in the S.H.E video?? Ha!

Moving on! Aside from all the controversy…. *rolls eyes* I am very impressed with the marketing that China’s come up for the Olympics. First and foremost, I am sort of… in love with the logo. Dancing Beijing by Guo Chunning.

There was a WHOLE spread on the issue of Communication Arts of months ago, read it all… devoured it. I am tempted on scanning it, LOL’ And the mascots! Maybe it’s my overly-occidentalized brain, but I thought their naming was smart. BeiBei, JingJing, HuanHuan, YingYing and NiNi… you know, as in Beijing Huanying Ni – Beijing Welcomes You~~~~

Beijing Olympics - Mascots

Another reason to watch? Zhang Yimou~~~ his films are visually stunning, so it only promises visuals and colors! *SWOON!* ALSO~~~~ How awesome is the new Beijing National Stadium – aka. Bird Nest – My mom thinks someone smoked of the good one when making up that concept. When it was under construction, I told her it looks sort of like a nest, and she didn’t believe me. xD

NatGeo… or was it Discovery Channel? Someone was showing an hour special about its construction. Niftiest thing ever, and I don’t even follow architecture. The budget was around $500M USD… which is like $4B Yuan, and the design was the winner of a contest xD All very architecture stuff~~

Oh, man~ I don’t think I’ve ever done a Twilight post in here. I remember reading book one and not really thinking much of it… I do remember a lot of eye-rolling xD I didn’t bother to read the rest of the books, but I know a lot of people that read the books… not really my thing.

So it was a surprise to find out that the latest book came out and did pretty impressive with sales. On that same article they talk about how some fans weren’t eh… too happy with the book. But what makes my day was the recap of what basically went on the book… totally makes me snort xD

Teehee, I was a bit out of the loop over the weekend, especially on Sunday when my cousin came over for a visit… and that’s when I quickly checked my email and found out that YesAsia had shipped my order!! Sugoi NE!

Best of all??? Someone has crossed their fingers for me, because Dandelion – Rhythmedia by rockin’ on publishing, which is another travel journal like Travel Sand but for Russia, has become available once again. If you have been following, I ranted a little bit because I had received an email saying that they couldn’t find the books in my order… but now, a week later~~~ here it is! Available once again!

**EDIT** They’re NOT coming. Check the comments~ xD

Okay, seems like I have been totally out of the loop here because I just found out that Motorokr Fest will be over the weekend (this Saturday to be precise). I blame it all on poor promotion… the event has totally been overshadowed by cable commercials about the Olympics, which will begin one day before the fest.

I would have never EVER known about it, if I hadn’t subscribed to Eventful back when Bjork was coming… so I checked my email today, and saw this in the event list.

First reaction was, HOLY SHIT! Goo Goo Dolls is coming??? I was also surprised about Lifehouse~~~ I wonder if my cousin is going. *looks for him and asks*

OK, it’s official~~~ The event has the worst promotion EVER. My cousin just found out when I told him. **EDIT** My friend doesn’t know anything about the event either, HA!

Such a pity, really… most important, the company selling the tickets (tuentrada.com.pe)- I didn’t EVEN KNOW that they existed. Never have seen a commercial by them, makes me iffy. It’s not like I love Teleticket (who also has a TERRIBLE website) – Wouldn’t Ticketmaster want to come??? I’ve gotten a pretty great service from them the times when I’ve bought tickets from them. xD

**EDIT** There’s also no info about the concert on Lifehouse’s Website or MySpace.
**EDIT** Molotov’s website shows the date as a CANCELED GIG.
**EDIT** No news if Cuarteto de Nos is/will or was ever on. Most likely that the event was entirely canceled, in which case organizers should update their online info.

**LAST EDIT** Just checked the Eventful site, and they finally put the cancelled tag on it.

Sad ER – The End

August 2, 2008 — 2 Comments

I recently found out ER is ending! I remember watching ER back in the day… I’m still missing Dr. Green, and am I the only missing Dr. Romano???? Am I the only one that screamed when the helicopter fell on him??? I know he was a prick sometimes, but he was a good doctor.

I’ve sort of watched the show on and off…. more off than on, but the episode that stuck with me the most was the one were Lucy Knight died. All in the Family, I remember seeing it as a youngster~~~ Totally bawled my eyes. I miss Lucy~~~ Kelly Martin, I’ve seen her on a Hallmark thing the other day… I miss Lucy, LOL’ Lucy and Dr. Carter should’ve gotten together xD That scene lying on the floor after being stabbed, and them looking at each other… GAWD, heartbreaking.

What’s the saddest ER episode you remember?? I also bawled like a baby when Dr. Green died, and Carter was reading the letter. You all must think I’m a big wuss crying in everything… but I don’t usually do. But family and friends sad moments get me the most. I’m the one who laughed at my friend in the theater when we went to watch Moulin Rouge. Satine dies in Christian’s arms, my friend bawls like a baby, and I’m mocking her for sniffing.

Okay, maybe I can cry in private. Part of the bedroom acting experience. Ha! So what’s your ER sad moment?

I know I’ve heard that one before… maybe in school? Maybe just talking among friends… but one thing is for sure, that a good story can be understood even with a language barrier.

Has any of you watch a film in a language that doesn’t resemble yours? I’m not talking about me watching La Vie en Rose with Swedish subtitles… though that was a challenge, but let’s face it~~ French, Spanish…. kinda helped a little bit, non?
